I expect Owner points and Money for both Clint and Jeff, and probably probation for Homestead for Gordon. I don't expect suspensions. The Owner points and money will be assessed because it was the crews who did the fighting and Nascar has to have some control over the pits. Gordon on probabtion is in line with their past rulings.

The bigger pile of shit in the race is NASCAR itself for NOT throwing the yellow for Danica's crash. That inaction is the direct reason that MWR, RCR, Front Row and Stewart Haas are hauling heaps of junk back to Charlotte.

To be honest, NASCAR lost control of the race the last 15 laps.

Kudos to the commentating team for not sucking NASCAR cock and calling it like it was. NASCAR screwed up.

I expect the probation will be for Clint too, just to keep him in check.

Although answer me this, if you are on Probation until December 31st 2012, and breaking those probation terms means you are banned from all NASCAR events until then, how is that relevant if you break the terms in the last race of the year? Really there's nothing to stop Clint from retaliating.

In our league we've covered this by making penalties incurred in the last round carry over to the first race the next season, but are NASCAR that sensible?

Yeaa, Kes got probation too when Edwards wrecked him and others at Gateway.

Probation, I believe race bans will carry over to next season.

Why would Bowyer be penalized points and money? The only contact he had was purely a racing incident. I know he ran halfway across the infield after that but he never actually did anything. Some of his crew (and by proxy his crew chief) will be in trouble but Bowyer himself did nothing wrong. I can see them putting him on probation like Ian said, just to keep him off the 24 for a week but that's about it.

Unless they think they need to punish him for saying "retards."

I can so see NASCAR doing that unfortunately.

That and for his crew chief uttering shit in his interview...

Gordon and Bowyer should meet up in one of the trailers and show each other their dicks. Feud over.

I said Owner points, not Driver points. I will rephrase...

I expect Owner points and money for both MWR and Hendrick and Driver points for Gordon.

Well does anyone remember the Gordon/Burton fight at Texas in 2010? Burton hooked Gordon in the LR and turned him head on in the wall UNDER CAUTION and there was no suspension... Busch punting Harvick at Darlington (LR and head on into the wall after taking the caution) Danica punting Hornish into the wall after the checkers at 'Dega this year and Cassill at Kansas. No suspensions.

Here is the difference for me, and it also applies to Busch truck incident at Texas last year. Bowyer was still mathematically in contention for the title... If you intentionally wreck someone, hooking them in the LR and putting them into the wall head on and taking them out of the CHAMPIONSHIP then that should call for a little more severe punishment.

Can't remember all the details of the Burton incident but I'm pretty sure he just brain farted and hooked Jeff accidentally. Maybe he didn't slow down soon enough. That wasn't a retaliation incident, IIRC.

Also, Chris A already pointed it out, but Jeff's tires were all still up and he wrecked himself. His comments about Bowyer 'pretty much ruining his day' are way off. You did it to yourself Jeff.

Weird, Michael Waltrip forgot fairly quickly what it's like to get shit from the same guy every week...

...he also kinda forgot what being a "chicken" and a "coward" is like. He left out the word "hypocrite", but pretty much described himself in that article. Check him out, losing his cool right here...

I've been a Jeff Gordon fan since '95, and I've defended him up and down ever since. I can't agree with what he did yesterday, because it does stoop to the levels of Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch and (ironically) Michael Waltrip.

Still, I'm not sure how else you can look at the two incidents on Sunday between the two and expect him to just shrug it off. Jeff got wrecked out of the lead at Martinsville by pretty much the single dumbest move I've ever seen, yet managed to pat Clint on the back after watching a replay. When they went back to Martinsville in October, Jeff more or less shrugged it off.

Now... when does Jeff Gordon get his point across? With a punch to the face? Maybe. If Sunday had seen only one incident between the two, maybe. But after the contact that sent Jeff into the fence, what do you do?

He lost his cool, and I'm not behind his actions. I am supportive of putting his foot down, because nothing else worked, at that point.

Cheers.

Now, please loosen y'alls panties, just a bit.

I mean, Mikey isn't a champion, so it's OK to expect this out of him.

Sorry about the over-abundance of videos... there's also that time at Darlington in 2004, at the Southern 500, when Jimmy Spencer got into him and caused a wreck. Jimmy (who I believe was running the 50 car for... Arnold Motorsports? John Arnold? Tom Arnold? haha) ended up perpendicular to Michael, and Mikey just nailed the gas and ran Jimmy all the way down the front stretch, like a plow.

But of course, nobody remembers that, and nobody would have wanted him parked, either.

Sorry. Loosening my own panties, now.

Just noticed the news on ESPN's ticker:

Gordon has been fined $100K and docked 25 points. No suspension.

NASCAR didn't penalize him when he did that at Daytona. Hooray for inconsistency!

Still, at least he wasn't docked points.

Apparently after Daytona they told the drivers not to have their phones in their cars...

Personally I think it's too bad.. I thought it was quite funny seeing him tweet during the red flag. The drivers obviously won't use their phones while their driving and it provides some good entertainment during longer red flag periods.

Should put a 4g iPad mini in it then. It's not a phone and you can get on twitter.

Pathetic NASCAR, they made such a huge deal out of what Kes did at Daytona.
