It happens.

I've seen it happen before, although with the red lights, which led to even more confusion and carnage than the original incident the starter guy was reacting to since nobody else knew what was going on.

I no longer give NASCAR the benefit of the doubt. They don't deserve it anymore.

To whoever posted hoping that I made it to the track, I did. I got to the track as they started the engines. I left at 6 p.m. though thinking the race wasn't going to go back green, plus it was starting to get pretty dang cold. I know Fox said it was 44 degrees when the race restarted, if so, that was the coldest 44 degrees I've ever felt. That is the worst Bristol crowd I have ever seen. I honestly think more people were there Saturday than yesterday. The speedway was letting cars park for free without a parking pass on speedway property. I was able to park basically right outside of the entry gate I walked in. A majority of the local people I follow on Twitter are begging for the race to be moved to April, thinking that will bring the crowds back. The weather may play a factor, but I think people just want to see the wrecks. If the crowd had stuck around Saturday for the K&N race, they would have got to see the wrecks plus a great finish with a good winner.

^^^ Glad to hear you made it! Sounds like it would have been a pain in the arse all day, and you have the benefit of living nearby. Loudon in September of '02 was a pain, just because it would start, then stop - start again, then stop - we went to our cars, then turned around, came back, and saw them race to halfway.

As for the lights, shit happens. Human errors happen, and they're taking steps to prevent it in the future. It was a fantastic race, and that's what we should be focusing on. What more do people want??
