Tomorrow is gonna be 97 laps of rain shortened garbage. Chad's gonna have Jimmie stay out as it starts to downpour.

Poole now joins Regan Smith in the Talladega ghost victory hall of fame.

He was forced below the line trying to dodge a spinning car so...perhaps for the first time ever NASCAR go that no-call...right?

Still utterly pointless to throw that yellow. Look at the screenshot posted above. Cars are all in a pack, and only 4 1/2 cars are ahead of the wreck when the lights came on. That yellow did nothing but decide the race on a BS technicality. No safer, no more dangerous. Just fucked up a finish.

Shouldn't it be first one to the checkered flag wins? That kind of defeats the purpose of racing.

I get the "reason" why they threw the yellow, but if they were truly for safety they would scrap these GWC's on plate tracks.

would be shocked if anyone lifted, and if they did they didn't want to win

And it was all because of the prior caution that wasn't needed.

The caution to set it up was even bigger bullshit, by the by.

A caution because "there was a crash yesterday and we cleaned the track", a caution for debris on the apron, a caution for a car getting a bit sideways & a caution just before the finish line. GJ NASCAR. Christ, it's not hard.

I give Poole so much credit in his interview, I'd be fuckin rippin pissed. Throwing a caution was useless, NO ONE was gonna lift. Its like a wreck on the backstretch on the last lap, let them race, they will be slow by the time they get back there. Fuckin NASCAR....

Sadler tandemed, passed below the yellow line, wrecked the leader, and brought out the caution. All in the last 300 yards. He was declared the winner.

NASCAR actually found a way to out NASCAR itself.

as much as it sucked (i thought poole did a kickass job pushing his way to the front) you have to go with nascar on this one. the pack of cars at the front arent the only cars on the track and the caution makes sure that cars at all areas of the track slow down to allow safety vehicles to enter the track more quickly.

if poole had been the beneficiary of the caution rather than sadler i doubt we'd be on here crying about it

Let's just face facts. The only reason to watch the plate races is for the wrecks. The racing is nonsense and the winner determined at random by a slot machine in race control.

I just hope it's not the same flagman on the stand for the cup race otherwise we'll have cautions for cars racing aggressively that may crash, threatening clouds that may rain, a fan getting a bit too close to the fence, a dog in the grandstands that may be spooked by the noise and all kinds of other "might happen but probably won't" situations. :whistling:
