Hmmm...

Lots more tweets are now saying the driver has passed away. I know it's still probably a bullshit thing to be posting but I thought it was worth mentioning since the majority of the early reports weren't making that claim.

The only tragedy is whatever happened to Ward. If the report is true that Stewart gassed up and whipped his car sideways near driver standing on the track, it wouldn't be fair to say he intentionally hit the kid. But even still, it's obviously still dangerous and unacceptable to be doing that shit. Guys running out and displaying anger to cars under yellow isn't smart either, but it happens a ton and (I think it's safe to say) the drivers manage to essentially never hit them.

Does that mean he changed tires after the crash, had a LR on incorrectly and that's why his car kicked out? Or that he came in after he hit the kid and tried to change his tire to cover up what he had done?

Cover up. Right rear is always bigger than the left real on dirt.

A lot of teams put left rears on the right rear when they are putting cars on the trailer cause it is easier to strap in.

True, the only tragedy here is the thought the loss of a young drivers life. Tony's been a bit off all year, driving wise, and has seemed to not be totally right off the track either. The implications of this are incalculable, could be the end of Tony's driving career and his part of NASCAR all together (SHR)

If one were to guess in case Stewart can't race, probably Regan Smith or Chase Elliot. Most likely Regan.
