"Great for the fans"

I agree with Stewart, just do a figure eight race.

So you're saying they shouldn't have done the other 159 laps either then?

How do you arrive at that conclusion? Where does anything I wrote resemble that?

The only thing that happens when they don't throw the yellow is that more cars get wrecked, for no reason.
Johnson had the race won.

As much as I was not wanted to see the 48 win , he really deserves this one. Best car and great drive by jimmie , well done.

Expect for the moment he wiped out Ambrose and Kahne.

Yeah you do - that one to lose any sense of common sense when a fat drunk guy from Indiana named "Stewart" is involved.

Didn't know that was your type.

Accidents can happen at any point in the race. The crash didn't happen just because they let them race to the line. The drivers are in control of their own fate. It isn't NASCAR's fault that they let them race an extra half a lap and an accident happened to occur in that stretch.

Yes, I agree the wreck wouldn't have happened if they stopped it half a lap early, but the last three accidents wouldn't have happened if they stopped it 20 laps early. And so on. Why couldn't NASCAR have thrown a precautionary yellow before every accident that occurred? Because they can't predict when they will happen. That's all I'm getting at. Sorry I wasn't clearer in my first post.

When I looked at Patrick's car after all the hammering it seemed to me it was as "clean" as if the car is made of plastic and didn't break at all.

Since I love my numbers so much, the fast lap of the night was 202.548 mph.

Well JJ had this race won from about lap 10 or so (still no reason for him to play Burnout: Takedown on his teammate though) but the racing was good behind.

Maybe plate racing is fixed now, it's just JJ that is better than everyone else leading to whatever line he's in being the dominant one?

Anyway, good race, worth staying up. Great from 2nd on back so 8/10

I'm not going to lie and say that last lap passes aren't what we all like to see (in racing in general) but like I've said before, I much prefer it when the drivers have to work hard to earn the pass instead of just having the token slingshot because of the absurd aero package. And don't kid yourselves about who had the fastest car tonight. We'd all be a lot less complain-y if someone more popular among our little community had run a race like the 48 did tonight.

I agree, tandem racing seems a lot more "random" and it comes down mostly to timing and luck. Pack racing does have a degree of luck to it as well, but it does seem after today that having a great car means a lot more. I am curious how Johnson's car would do if it were put into a tandem situation, but I doubt it would be as dominant as it was today.

Stayed up? What is this tripe you speak, isn't it something like only 11pm where you are, you wimp, no stamina I tell you.

Man up, it's 4am here!
