sending drunk drivers into press conference would be insanely funny had Phoenix not happened, it even seemed as if he was being really careful about what he said which is more that he was last week |

Imagine if he starts calling out NASCAR and Brian France on their past bullshit in a piss-drunk stupor. Wakes up the next morning in a Motel 6 with a passed-out hooker, a llama, and a note from 2012 Sprint Cup Series Champion Clint Bowyer thanking him for getting himself docked 50 driver points. |

The car is the exact fucking same sans the body and one extra rail on the frame. Sorry for the language, but it's really frustrating to see people saying OH THE NEW CAR IS NASCAR'S SAVIOR!!!11111 when it's basically the same chassis they've been running since 07. More to come from me tomorrow, but long story short I got to meet a ditch post-race. |

Hello people, wake up! COT is still there, they're only making some modifications to make it more digestible, like making it look like the street cars, nothing beyond that. |

No shit. Nobody in TBK's suggested the new car will fix the shitty racing endemic in NASCAR right now, but at least it'll look a lot better. |

From what I've been reading, it's supposed to be lighter and less stable. To say that it's not going to be different, when the aerodynamic profile is completely different from the current car, is just a little bit excessive. I'm vaguely optimistic. |

Lighter cars means softer tires due to less tire wear. Lighter cars with softer tires should mean better racing with more emphasis on mechanical grip. |

You're kidding right?... The bodies have been the main problem. It's an aero issue. NASCAR made all the cars IROC. The cars weren't the problem, the identical bodies were. |

Quote: "NASCAR is addressing changes in the car to improve competition as far as more passing and tighter racing." - Brian France This gives me hope, but then again, that's what they said about the COT. I remember reading somewhere recently that in 2005 or 2006 some journalist asked the president of California Speedway if they were going to change the track to make the racing more exciting, and she said no because Nascar told her the COT would take care of that. And we all know how that turned out. Since I don't know much about aerodynamics I'm being cautiously optimistic that the 2013 car could be better, but we'll just have to see. |

The bodies have been the main problem. It's an aero issue. NASCAR made all the cars IROC. The cars weren't the problem, the identical bodies were. The 2013 bodies will still have no room for modifications once the aero-matching between the three manufacturers is final. It's just gone from one spec body to another that's more aesthetic. The suspension geometry set-ups (that are designed to have the front end flush with the ground at speed in clean air) are still going to remain as is. That said, they are going to make the minimum weight a bit lighter so Goodyear can experiment with softer tyres. They were also considering a smaller spoiler. So those changes have potential to improve the racing. |

Smaller spoiler would help, but with the front ends still stuck to racing surface, it will be impossible to avoid aero push. Look for more of the same. The cars will just make boring look cooler, which helps, I guess. |
