So by how many points is Johnson champion? They did not show any points standings all race, were they all 4 on equal points? After such a long season?

Yes all four are equal so whoever finishes highest wins, there are no bonus points, so even by finishing last, Edwards still finishes fourth in the standings.

Garbage. Nowhere most of the year and absolutely backs into the Championship on a day where he was never really in contention.

I respect the talent, both Johnson and Knaus, but this one is a joke.

He won 7 of these in a 14 year span....bullshit formats or not, you have to respect the accomplishment.

I didn't watch this year and I didn't watch last year.

The new system has had me not caring who won either this year or last. It's arbitrary enough that it makes the old chase system (also utterly terrible and in no way indicating whether someone was the best driver in a given year) preferable - which is saying a lot.

What have they done with the real Joey Logano? This android replacement is so obvious, he's showing far too much maturity in this interview.

Edit: Holy shit even Kyle Busch doesn't want to fight anybody, they've really ramped up the maturity setting on these hosts.

With less than 100 laps to go, we had a debris caution for no debris. At this point, Edwards was almost half a lap ahead of Logano and an off sequence Busch. Johnson was close to being lapped. NASCAR just couldn't let it run naturally. As if the points system isn't already enough of a farce, they have to interfere with the title deciding race.

You confuse "turning right" with straightening out so he can make the corner.

Just cause a guy is in front, you're never supposed to turn him around. Joey could have just pushed Carl. He hooked him instead. Carl should not have blocked, either. Stop acting like its so black and white.

You're beating a dead horse, literally, nobody like Carl here.

I'm a fan of Carl and Joey. :p

Holy shit. TV ratings for this race were down 25% compared to last season.

One of the excuses is that last year's #s were inflated because the race ran long and spilled into Sunday Night Football pregame....but the same thing happened this year.

Should've edited in the name of the actual car whose front end got torn up over Newman's in the most obvious way possible

For the Lulz.

Or you could've gone with Murray Walkers Spa 98.

It's a minor thing that I've said before but I still love how it's actually the NBC logo that shows you the track status by going green/yellow/red etc instead of them shoving an extra graphic under it

Neat touch.

You know how ironic that is? Mike Helton (per Jeff Gluck) stated to let the race play out "naturally". Sure enough, one invisibris caution and a yellow for a flat tire that was handled by the affected driver led to this. That's not natural.

Quite possibly the most heart-breaking "thank you" message Edwards has ever received.

It is natural for nascar.

Either that or be just said that for show abs intended to do the exact opposite,

Hypocrisy is natural to nascar too.
