Will take back my comment about Ken Squier, just watched the 1993 Die Hard 500 and he was sublime, smooth and slick and the right tone for the right moment

If I have one pet peeve about Ken Squier, it's that his tendency to refer to a pileup as a "holocaust" may have been a bit.... inappropriate?

(That and pronouncing garage as "gararge")

Part of it is just the fondness for whoever was broadcasting the first races you watched. Some of my favourite Ken Squier habits were how he introduced every driver by their birthplace - "Ricky Craven outta Newburgh Maine" and "Pennsylvania's Mr Excitement Jimmy Spencer" - and how he could relate every crash back to some long forgotten driver's accident from the '60s.
