The rear end broke, or the drive shaft broke and jammed the rear gears.

Only way anyone is going to get hurt is by fire if if they somehow get t-boned on the roof imo.

To be fair.... how unlucky is it that the car breaks at exactly that moment??!! I doubt there is much that can be done in that situation.

It looks like the fuel has melted the racing surface.

I really hope there was some photographers stationed in that corner that had their cameras ready.
