Personally... This race has been a disappointment. It has had so much buildup that the pack is back and it's going to be one of the most competitive races and it has been a single file parade. Hardly any action, really lame halfway race. Nothing but commericals was NBC coverage not fox.. I'm disappointed so far. There better be a huge wreck at the end and an underfunded team with a no name driver getting his first win to make up for it.

I'm leaning towards agreeing with a lot of this. It hasn't been bad so far, much better than last years two car bullshit. But I think we all thought it was going to be insanity balls to the wall the whole race, which was foolish of us. If we look back at the racing prior to the two car crap, a lot of the races went through this sort of processional phase. Personally, I think what we're seeing is exactly what everyone clamored for, old school pack racing. I just think we all forgot how it used to be and got sucked into the two or three completely ridiculous races we had mixed in there.

You make valid points. I guess thinking back to most of the common plate races before the 2 car crap.. and even some with... They don't really start tearing shit up until about 30 to go. Then it's a caution parade.

And for those who expected the entire 500 miles to be batshit insane, should also have expected dozens of cars being destroyed throughout the course of the race.

If this "mundane" pack racing for the first 3/4 of the race builds up to an amazing finish with 25+ cars at the end, I'll be happy. Fingers crossed that they don't wad the pack up with 2 to go. But even now, expecting it not to turn to shit at the end is a little optimistic. We'll just have to see how it pans out.

She's 39th! Why are we giving her any attention?

It's just a result of everyone being extra cautious after the long delay and early wrecks. Pretty sure the racing will be a lot better once they get to Talladega. I am surprised this rules package pretty much puts them back where they were 2 years ago (i.e. bumping in the turns is a no-no) but drivers seem to be struggling with those limitations so much.

This race is too tame for my liking. We need more action, more lead changes please.

Seriously.. is there any way we can contact FOX to tell them to STFU about her when she's irrelevant?

No point in really mixing it up until it's time to decide a winner. Sadler proved that really early.
