Tony George never robbed Montoya of a victory at Indy despite the fact he was racing for the rival series.

They need to bulldoze the track and completely rebuild it as something else for something like that to happen.

That is closer to reality than you would think.

What the hell is with all this bitching about NASCAR's call on Montoya speeding? All that is done using electronics. Heaven forbid he was ACTUALLY SPEEDING!!!

Also how is the cup series a bad series? I can count on my hand the number of people who have a good shot at winning a Truck or Nationwide race, but there are probably over fifteen drivers in the cup series who have a legitimate chance of going to victory lane every week.

Was this race a good one? No, this race could be referenced for the word mediocrity, but I will be watching this weekend at Pocono and every race weekend from here on.
+1

How about this, the next person that uses the $ in place of the "S" in NASCAR is banned for a month.

How about that?

That doesn't really work though because, as far as I know, there is only one organisation in the world called NASCAR so you would never really need to use a plural of it.

Brilliant!

Race was quite the snoozer.. we would've had the same thing last year, except tires kept exploding too soon. Indy's always been a relatively boring race with the cup cars though.

Yeah, Montoya sped, the electronic deal kinda takes out any error there.. at least it showed us that someone who can hold a 5+ second lead can't pass in traffic.. that's what we should be ranting about. I'm guessing it was a combo of car + track, but you just couldn't really pass.

Missed the race, saw the re-air, and all I can say is FUCK YOU NASCAR. They wanted their prissy ass POS showcase driver to win so they robbed Montoya. He looked slow on pit road compared to other drivers, and the loop data says he was almost 10mph over in 2 segments?! Bull-fucking-shit.

I cry foul on this one. Fuck that.

What they could do is have a radar gun and an electronic board at the end of the pit so that you can see just how fast the drivers are going.

"YOU ARE GOING 59 MILES PER HOUR. YOU ARE SPEEDING."

i think thats a really good idea..just an electronic board that says the speeds of the cars as thet pass by..sometimes they have them by the side of the highway up here in canada..so the it cant be that hard to figure out ;) ..besides nascar allowes them a 5 mph grace on the actual speed limit on pit road..so if you get caught ,its your own fault

Jayski says he was .06 in one segment and .11 over in another...Actually its 5.06, but when you tell a race car driver that the limit is 55 but you can go 60 before you get a penalty, you are basically telling them you can go 60.
