You hate seeing something like this happen to somebody who has been making do with a shoestring budget for years. This is definately a major setback for him.

Yeah, that's terrible. Darrell and Jason have been really friendly to me whenever I've seen them at the racetrack and really seem like nice people who just enjoy being at the track. After the Salem race, Darrell was complaining about how expensive racing was getting and he didn't know how much longer he could do it anyway. Hopefully this isn't the nail in the coffin for him.

I think Darrell ran the last several races of the season this year with the same stuff, if something broke it might've been uncertain if they would've made it to the next race.

I certainly hope to see the Bashams at the track again.

Andy Belmont Racing is preparing a superspeedway car for Darrell Basham for Daytona in February.

Salem Speedway announced its ARCA race dates for 2011, Sunday May 1st and Saturday Sept. 17th. Bit later than usual, I wonder if Toledo will be a week or two after it.

I think Michigan has a race for June 17th, looking forward to the schedule, ARCA will race anywhere they can.

Probably not a bad thing for Salem's spring race to be bumped back a couple weeks. Weather is iffy in early April around here. We'll still have a higher-than-usual chance of rain probably that week, but it at least should be more likely to be warm.

Yep, no excuse for SPEED to not include it as they'll have the cameras and crew in place already.

Every major stock car series needs to run at ORP. That includes Cup.

I believe attendance figures factored that, if anything. Not too sure, tho.

While it sucks losing Rockingham, I guess I can deal with it since they're returning to two great short tracks in Winchester and ORP. I think I may have seen an ASA race or two at Madison, not sure. ORP may get televised...

Speed has a 10 race minimum contract with ARCA, they must televise at least 10 races.

The races I see them televising are:
Daytona
Talladega
Chicagoland
Pocono(1)
Michigan
Pocono(2)
Iowa
Kansas

That's eight races. I can see them returning to Toledo to televise the season finale, if the ORP race is on Brickyard weekend they may have the Speed cameras out there.

I'm surprised that Kentucky and the Nashville Superspeedway aren't on the schedule. It looks like the race in Palm Beach, FL has been scrapped after one year. It looks like they are going to a lot of good short tracks next year.
