Good race imo, Pocono has a knack in recent years for having strategy finishes, which are always exciting.

I have no clue how TONE E and EARL made it to the end on one tank. Gordon pitted 5 laps after them on that final caution, and Gordon ran out on the cool down lap. That was also the cleanest race I've ever been to, no wrecks. NASCAR's caution calling was a little retarded though. There was a hunk of metal right in front of me the whole race which was never picked up, yet they threw the final caution to blow the marbles off the outer groove in turn 3. That's really what Race Control said the caution was for, blowing off the marbles.

Well anyways made for a good finish, double file restarts needs a little bit of tweaking, but in all honesty they didn't have that much effect on a track like Pocono, besides giving like 6 cars their lap back each caution.

Oh and shoutouts to Dexter Bean and his team for running the full distance.

Allmendinger deserved a better finish than that. I quite enjoyed that for a Pocono race :)

I thought it was dull.

Pocono should be half a mile longer, and the banking should be like Talladega.

I disagree with your plans to restructure Pocono but I agree it was a dull race. That Johnson/Biffle/Edwards battle late in the first run was tits but the rest was crap in my opinion.

What the hell, this was a good race by Pocono's standards.

Yeah, it wasn't bad. I actually like Pocono simply because it's unique. It's still just about as boring as the 1.5 milers usually end up being, but at least it's a DIFFERENT kind of boring. And there are always a few moments of good racing at Pocono simply because nobody handles well in all three corners. (I love ovals like that)

Pocono has literally not changed in the past 30 years

Therefore it is insanely awesome. REEL RACIN

There are some Pocono races that are pretty damn boring, then there's ones with a bunch of cautions that make it interesting.(thinking of the '90 races, and the '91 July race)

Aside from the boilerplate wall of doom being replaced by SAFER barriers, and the somehow-more-dangerous-than-before dirt bank behind the inside guardrail, you're pretty much right. It's bumpy, tires get cut whenever people run too low in the corners, and they don't even have catchfence around about 80% of the track still. That's pretty sweet.

Yep, just the kinda track that makes you get up on that wheel, just like Daytona and Atlanta the way it is now.

No. I'm too tired to look for it now, but a repaving job might not happen for a little while, maybe a year. I really don't know when, but it certainly won't happen before the Coke Zero 400 this year.

That's gonna suck. Daytona is fine the way it is.
