I wouldn't be surprised if it went over their heads. They are too involved with needing to throw shit out on Twitter as fast as they can and getting all caught up in the TMZ-like drama that they seemingly miss more of the actual sports news now unless NASCAR makes a presser of it. I mean a lot of these guys are barely "journalists" anymore. Just Twitter people. They remind me of a beat writer for a stick and ball sports team. Clicks/views mean more than anything else these days and it shows.

That doesn't say nearly as much about their ability as journalists, rather than the thirst of people on the Internet for information.

If Marty Smith (one of the few great story-writers left) makes a well-articulated piece about something that happened at the track earlier today, but only posts it two hours from now, people will see it and think "yeah, cool, I saw Fryer\Pockrass\Gluck\Utter\Noble\Ryan\etc all tweet about that earlier in the day, and I don't need to click on that".

Thankfully, Marty's articles are deeper than that, but you catch my drift. It's now or never in this day and age.

True but Marty is a professional. That's why his articles are a joy to read and why I am willing to wait a period of time for them to be posted. And it's nice to see a writer wait to put out good work. I'll take quality over split second, TMZ shit any day.

Right, but... we have the ability to embed tweets right here on our forum, and lots of users do it regularly. The fact that we can do that as a means of getting news to other users is significant. As much as the traditional article about a race, qualifying or practice session used to be the way to go, it's way quicker for people than reading a full article would be ("ugh, words, amirite?"). It could be 4 paragraphs long, and most people wouldn't even bother.

I don't blame the journalists, I blame the people. *shrugs*

Danica won't get anything, she asked for permission to exit the car and was told it was OK due to the possibility of fire, you head her say something to the effect of 'I can smell fuel, can I get out?' and a reply came 'yes' after she crashed.

I'm not sure that the other guy should be penalised either since he was following the line of the road and Danica was the one driving straight.

Soon news articles will contain a TLDR section.

That's what I noticed and why I blamed her first.

I'm usually the first person to criticise Danica, but I think she moved up the track to take the line for the corner. Nobody enters turn one down on the bottom. If it had been the final lap racing for the lead, you could argue it was her fault, but I don't understand why Kahne was racing that hard, being a lap down.

Kahne being a lap down in HMS equipment is probably worse than taking out another car.

Kahne could be an honorary Sadler brother.....he's vastly overrated.

Sorry Busch Series, should have cleared that up.

He was a choke artist, I recall he threw away 2 championships in a row at Phoenix in the same corner

This is what people fail to realize mainly because Danica is an easy target. There was no reason Kahne needed to side draft a lead lap car being 1 lap down and she needed to get the proper angle for corner entry. I challenge anyone to show me a clip of someone, under green, voluntarily entering T1 at Fontana against the white line. If I were Danica id be pissed too. But it's Danica so clearly 100% at fault.

This was 90% Kahne and 10% Danica, if that, imo. Like you said, Kahne (a lap down) chased her down to nearly the apron to side draft her, but when they touched, her car barely moved up a bit (she needs an entry angle), whereas his car took a sharp left from what I saw in the video.
