Bruton should put in place the road setup he has for Charlotte. A 6 interchangable lane road leading to and away from the track. It's great for race traffic and completely useless the rest of the year. Perfect for Kentucky. |

I'm surprised more short tracks don't try that same idea. Not sure how well that would work, but it might help. CSX has trackage through Sparta, but I doubt you'd see any Amtrak or charter trains doing raceday commuter runs. The last train related magazine I read(from '91) said that CSX wanted $25 million in insurance coverage for any special passenger trains(I guess Amtrak has a different deal). I can only guess that price has gone up since then. There aren't any sidings nearby to park the trains during the race, either. |
