Not complaining about that finish. Awesome job by Keselowski to make that work.

Damn cool of Brad to run the American flag out the window during his victory lap.

The fuel mileage thing made it fun in the end. But the other part of the race was pretty shit.

I love these fuel mileage finishes, they keep you on edge till the flag drops. Good job by Kez and Wolfe to play that one out to perfection. Too bad for Jr. but to finish 2nd after starting out running Top-25 is massive indication of how much they've turned that ship around from last year when it would sink more as the race went on.

yeah that is the good part about this season if people noticed he used to start dropping back after midway in a race last year and b4 but this year hes actually one of the fastest cars at the end. now if they could just get the qualifying back to 2008 standards when he had Darian Grubb. losing Grubb i think hurt him worse than anything imo. crew chiefs get all the recognition but car chiefs are just as important. just look at Ron Malec. lol and hate the 48

Grubb wasn't the car chief on the 88 back in 08. He was overseeing the 5 and 88 shop.

Do we expect too much from NASCAR? That's something I've been considering for a while. Not every race can be a race with 15 cautions, 100 lead changes and four flips. I thought the race today was pretty decent. Nothing great, but not bad.

If the things that make the special races special happened all the time, then the special races wouldn't be special anymore, right?

Maybe I'm just rambling, who knows.

I somewhat agree with you. Some of these races aren't half bad.

Mostly it's gotta come down to the quality of racing. If guys aren't running side by side much or there aren't many in with a shot at the win, then the fans are right to complain. I can't speak for this race as I didn't see it, but overall this season in Cup there's been a pretty good level of competition and the rules and tires package has mostly held up. Nationwide and Trucks have been absolutely dire though.

This x 1000. The majority of the changes that have been introduced in NASCAR in the last 10 years have all been predicated on the the idea of creating something special everyweek instead of allowing something special to happen without interference.

When we look back through NASCAR history at all the moments that are really cool and special, in between each of those were countless races of blah.

I didn't think this race was particularly good, but that's OK because that's what makes the great races.
