It would certainly continue the precedent of Clint having to share the booth with people he's previously hated.

Jr basically said lolnope to Cup racing if the charter price point stays above $10m, but is glad that the charters are increasing value for the current owners.

I know the NASCAR subreddit is generally cancer, but I found this thread interesting: https://www.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/comment ... car_facts/

Wow.

It's interesting that Trackhouse has bought a two-car team, both charters, but will only be running two cars next year. So the grid will get smaller, technically.

I didn't expect that at all. I never saw any indication that Ganassi was looking to sell the team. This came totally out of left field.

Well, browsing that article it sounds like Chip didn't plan on this either. Marks approached him with an offer out of the blue and it developed from there.

Hopefully Chastain doesn’t lose the seat. That guy can’t catch a break.

There have been some rumors about Kurt Busch driving a second 23XI car next season, so there's a good chance that Chastain won't be going anywhere. But it all depends on what direction Justin Marks and Pitbull want to go in regards to whether he would stay or not. I can almost bet you Daniel Suarez will stay with the team; he's actually had some pretty good runs this season.

Atlanta is badly overdue for a repave, and they're going to be reconfiguring it over the offseason.

Quote:
Following 10 months of confidential research, development, testing and simulation with engineers and iRacing, the reprofile will increase the current 24-degree banking in Atlanta’s turns to 28 degrees—higher than any other intermediate track on the current NASCAR circuit. Straightaway banking will remain five degrees. In addition to the new high banks, the racing surface will become narrower with an overall decrease in width from 55 feet to 40 feet. New widths will be 52 feet on the front stretch, 42 feet on the back stretch and 40 feet in the turns.

It is clear now that the future direction of NASCAR is for tracks to be easy wide open pack racing, boooring

Atlanta Motor Speedway and Nintendo can now share the same common thing with today's announcements:

they have disappointing upgrades.

I have mixed feelings. I like big speeds, which the new pavement/steeper banks should deliver big time. But...it's gonna be more shitty pack racing, isn't it?

I would look forward to the Xfinity race at least, but you just know NASCAR is going to do something to nerf them for New Atlanta anyways.

They should've made it the other way around, to have a chance of Open wheel racing.

Seems like the drivers (namely Hamlin and Larson) don't like the direction AMS is going with their repave

Xfinity will be terrible too because they will not be lifting and there will be no tyre wear
