I gave it a 6. It had some decent racing at every event but some of NASCAR's constant manipulations left a sour taste in the mouth in just about every one of them. Guess I need to stop watching old races and not get reminded of the pre-Brian France days when races were allowed to play out naturally. And even though I totally respect Johnson's talent and Chad's ingenuity as well as the unity and discipline of the whole #48 team, I just find them hella boring so to see them do so well and not have anyone be able to match them on a consistent basis was a downer for most of the season, especially during the Chase.

One more bad thing about this season... JWT didn't go on his roof this year. Image

Don't worry, RCR will make sure that happens next year

The plate races were nuts, but they always are.
Mark Martin, Montoya, Stewart, Gordon, Johnson; All vets showing the way. Good stuff.

I think the best race was Homestead, because it produced great racing, and a potential foreshadow of things to come for 2010.
RCR is back?
Hendrick becoming stable?
Ambrose the man to watch?
Montoya staying ontop?
Progression towards 'old' NASCAR? (start times)

So much more; But for 2009, I give it an 8.

Plenty of fuel races (Michigan was nuts)
Plate races rocked
Short tracks were pretty sweet
Mayfeild drama was fun for a few weeks
1.5 milers are improving
Double-File restarts
A lota good stuff

8.
