I don't think the tire failures have anything to do with Goodyear. It's the teams are pushing the envelope with the setups farther than what the tires can handle.

What may have looked like a stupid move earlier might end up looking like a stroke of genius later if teams start running low on tires. By staying out earlier, Ryan Newman and Brad Keselowski's teams have one more set than everybody else right now.
