Joe and John Hunter Nemechek are going to both run the truck race at Daytona. John Hunter will be back in the #8. Joe will be in his familiar #87.

Here's a wild thought...run the Charlotte roval backwards. Solves the S/F line issues and the pit in/out issues. Solves just about all of the issues really, except the driver side being wall-first if something happened on the oval portion.

And someone not making the infield entry with braking failures/stuck throttle also hitting driver side first the cars on the other side, that are rejoining the track.

Except for the whole, walls being designed for CCW travel and would be deadly going in a CW fashion.

They would be exposed to driver side hits in this case running the normal layout, not a reverse layout.

I thought the SAFER was non-directional? It can't take a hit from either direction?

He's probably talking about the access points on the inside of the oval, there's one in turn 4 and one on the backstretch which could be nasty, but having said that Indy has one in the middle of the front stretch and they seem to cope with that OK, they had the same problem at Mallory and just threw a pile of tyres in front of the problem areas.

I still can't quite grasp black/gang/whatever culture's obsession with NASCAR jackets. I assume it's because they look gaudy enough without context to be revered as some sort of "fashion statement"?

Yeah...wasn't thinking about those. I wouldn't think it would be difficult to make it a Z shape and sort of "reverse the direction" using tire barriers and walls similar to what's used on a temporary street course.

Those aren't exactly great to hit going the "proper" direction either. Look at Jeff Gordon's Atlanta wreck in 2015. They kind of jut out and still make a terrible angle for impact.

Not sure what to make of this. I really don't like the idea of it. I prefer the old points structure and the old season formats to this new crap. I'm not going to scream some stupid shit about not being a fan anymore, because I will be. I just don't get as much into it anymore. It's more for entertainment that sport anymore.
