It's weird, because watching from over here, ford waa about the only brand I recognised so I latched onto that as a result.

Also my dad had a ford cortina when I was very young so I've always had a soft spot for them.

Say what you want about ford, but it's an international brand.

I'd find it difficult to tell you which teams use which manufacturers. I never really give it any thought. Maybe it was easier to tell in the past when the cars looked a bit different.

Anyone see the Racecar Engineering/Stockcar Engineering article on the X-3 testing car? had some interesting bits in it. In one of the graphs they shown, the amount of downforce produced by the splitter was only 150 LBF/10% on the 2nd version of the X-3 testing car, while this year's package is at 350 LBF/25% and the original Gen6 body was at 600 LBF/25%

Indeed... Brian France and a number of NASCAR drivers went down to Valdosta, GA to endorse Trump. Bad showing from NASCAR today.

Well that makes NASCAR look even worse than it already does...we're not all Trump supporting rednecks.

Congrats guys, you wanted an end to that "And that destroyed the front end of newman's car" meme

You got it, I'm now preceding to never mention any of those drivers again

And that destroyed the front end of Newman's support

(I've also gone through a similar thing when Paul Tracy announced his support for Trump and shooting up a load of muslims on his facebook page. (Not understanding the irony of an immigrant to the country being for someone who is anti immagration, but it's ok when it's the jokey ned flanders neighbours from the north cos at least they're all white, right?)
As far as I'm concerned now, there was no screw job, Castroneves won the 2002 Indy 500 fair and square)
(I wouldn't put it past Tony George to support Trump though)
(Hey, how many brackets am I on now?)

Sounds like the CEO of Camping World is disappointed.

Professionally speaking. I'm sure he's pissed, but doesn't want to show it on Twitter.

In any case, bad PR. Vote whoever you want, but you should NOT make your political stance known if you're running a sanctioning body of motorsport.

Either way, people are talking about NASCAR because of this. And that is what NASCAR wants in the first place because it gets their name in public view. Good or bad, it gets people talking.

Imagine there was a minority driver in the ladder series (or someone dealing with some form of non-trump lifestyle like being secretly gay or even just caring about their fellow human being) and seeing the message this sends out from the sanctioning body.
Not exactly a career you want to pursue if that was the case is it?

But then maybe NASCAR is taking a leaf out of Bernie's book and allying themselves with the most evil dictatorships possible so long as they're are the ones with the money.

Guess that explains why they wouldn't let Matt Tifft run his John Kasich-sponsored Xfinity car at Daytona.

And what if said driver had a sponsorship from his home countries leading billionaire, that was not only sponsoring him, but his own teammates. :whistling:

That was a really fascinating article. I really hope NASCAR is wise enough to pay attention to all of the things that are being learned in this testing and development process and fully embraces the low aero sensitivity, low downforce package in the next generation of cars.

Guys...Ryan Newman has an engineering degree. From a fucking solid university. That's the astonishing thing about all this.
