Morons on Twitter are asking Mark Martin if he will be an option for the 14 if Tony misses time... like really?

My guess is that either Alex Bowman or Justin Allgaier will sub for Stewart.

Justin Allgaier probably would make the most of it.

NASCAR Creative cannot afford to be this lazy. Re-using last year's Kyle Busch injury storyline is not an ideal move from a writing standpoint.

It's pretty obvious either Sadler or Allgaier will be Tony's replacement. Seeing as both would be mediocre at best, with Allgaier being the better choice, and taking into account that this is Nascar we're talking about, my money's on Sadler.

Fuck it, throw Cole Custer in it. I want to hear his name said over and over again.

Custer would make sense if he wasn't running his first year on the big tracks.

What tracks can he run? I'm not up to date on the current restrictions.

I think he'll be old enough to run them all. U-18 drivers can't run tracks >1 mile.

Oh man, I totally forgot NACAR SUPER SUB MATT CRAFTON. Oh, and David Ragan, there's that guy too. Does he have a ride?

He's 18 now so he can race anywhere, but he didn't race at any of the big tracks last year. Pretty sure he's running the ARCA race to get RP experience for Daytona.

Ty Dillon in the 14. Allgaier or Bowman in the 95. I'm basing that off nothing but hey sounds good.

So. Will he get a chase waiver? (assuming he comes back in a timely manner and meets the other requirements)

Ty Dillon already has a ride for the 500 in place so they'd need to find another driver for the 14 for at least the 500.

And Ty Dillon should not be near a Cup car anytime soon.

I would say it'll depend on how long he's out. Remember they gave Kyle his ridicously long waiver because they said it was NASCAR's fault.... but it's Tony's last season so they would probably let him miss all 26 races and give him an "Only Winston/NEXTEL/Sprint Cup past champion's provisional" into the Chase.
