50 degrees is like perfect weather to race in (or to watch a race) for me lol.

Charlotte and Kentucky also confirmed their Cup race dates for next year (May 29 for Charlotte, like always and July 9 for Kentucky)
wooooooo no changes again, like every year

I agree. 60 and above is too hot.

I fully expect the only change will be the swap of dates between Bristol and Michigan in August and that's it.

I remember a few years back we went to Salem in April and it was snowing. They were racing a few hours later.

Besides, that policy is totally backward. They should refund races that are too fucking hot, not cold. You can always put more clothes on, however I don't blame people for hating hot weather. It fucking blows.

Now, NASCAR is going to fuck all shit up with the GWC rules for Talladega. They're going to kill the last remaining hope for the season. Lol.

Honestly, if the drivers/teams don't want torn up cars, perhaps it's high time to focus on driving smarter instead of acting like fucking animals on a GWC. If it takes away the "fun" of a 20-car mess of flipped vehicles and mass destruction on the last lap, so be it.

No need to punish the fans with another bullshit yellow finish because of the competitors' own reckless abandon.

Atlanta is absolutely the worst track to try a guarantee like that.

I have been to Atlanta for more races than I'd like to count. I've been rained on, I've dodged massive thunderstorms, been too hot, been too cold, shoes filled with six inches of standing water, I've stood under the grandstand wondering if my car would be washed away by the floodwaters building up in the parking lot, and about everything in between.

The only two things I haven't encountered at an Atlanta race is snow and a tornado - although sometimes I fear that may be inevitable.

Give it chance, it'll happen again. If winter gets far enough south you'll get your snow as well.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

The 93 or 94 Spring race at Atlanta was snowed out.

I know Charlotte has had about every weather condition but for a hurricane or a earthquake hitting on a race weekend. They had a few tornado warnings during one of the May race weekends a few years back on one of the off track days in between the All Star and the 600 I think. I know it has snowed during a race at Charlotte too (because I raced in it/on the same day as other divisions did).

Some of my family was down in Atlanta for the 08 SEC tournament when the Georgia Dome got hit by a tornado. They ended up being stuck in the Dome til like 2 or 3 in the morning. Atlanta is just awful.

You missed the blizzard of '93 then that pretty much wrecked the entire east coast sans Florida. I think the spring Atlanta race that year was postponed several weeks if not a month for that.

IIRC that 1993 spring race was run six days after its original date.

You're right Wayne. That was the final race for Alan Kulwicki before his death the next week I believe.

That's also incorrect. It was the following week at Darlington.
