It's a little concerning that they're almost pinning all their opinions of this on a single race.

It's all going to come down to how well Jr and Danica do. :p

It's funny - when they announced they were hitting the brakes on the promising (-looking, at least) rules for 2016, the first thing that popped into my head was "well, Dale Jr.'s doing well with this package, so why would they want to change it?"

It was an off-the-cuff remark and it might not be true, but hey, they seem to think redneck Jesus winning brings in ratings. *shrugs*

I may have to hop over to the other side state and check this out. Course definitely looks cool!

I think the FS1/AT&T standoff has finally ended. Earlier this week it had darts listed in place of Xfinity as per usual. Then it changed today to reflect the correct programming and they were showing Xfinity coverage until the race as delayed.

So apparently this was photographed at the Penske shop. Rumored to be a Montoya car for Indy.

Is it just me, or is there no roof & hood flaps on that car in the photo above.

Perhaps they cut those out later in the process.

Interesting number choice as opposed to the usual 12 they run on a 3rd car. Would be fun if Ganassi ran a 3rd car for one of his Indy guys.

Yeah it's a ARCA car. Most likely for Austin Cindric to get some more testing in a stock car.

While ISC might operate Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, there is no plans for any NASCAR races to be held at the track currently

It was never a great track for actual racing, was it? I mean, other than the crazy pass, not much happened there.

It's gorgeous, I went there once. We were on an unrelated trip and decided to drive by there just to see it.

We ended up nearly driving into the garage area of a MotoGP style series :p .

Always wanted to go there once. Drove by it a couple years on my honeymoon on the way to the hotel we were staying at for the night on our way to SF. I just don't think the track would be good for "stock cars".

Well, stock cars race rather unconventionally compared to the rest of the road racing world so don't compare to how any other series' races turn out. Biffing and barging is fair game and the boys MAKE room where there isn't. Not something delicate CART cars could do, for example.

One problem will be cars getting beached on the numerous gravel traps all day long. I really wish they'd pave over SOME of them atleast just for the betterment of the racing in general.

Yeah, if NASCAR were to add a roadie on the schedule, I'd rather see Road America or COTA than Laguna Seca.

Road Atlanta, Mosport, VIR, St Jovite, Sebring > Laguna Seca > COTA.

I wouldn't mind seeing a race at COTA if they adjust some of the sections for NASCAR.

Yeah, turn 1 was profiled with F1 in mind, among a few other corners.
