I agree, 15-20 for the final segment is ok with me.

What about the details of the 2016 package that was to be used in the All-Star? I'm more interested in that.

NASCAR did the most NASCAR thing possible:

Sprint All-Star Race to stick with 2015 rules

Just another thing on the NFL-wannabe checklist: gotta make sure the All-Star event is unwatchable.

(as if the regular NFL games were watchable, lol)

I think they were thinking, "fuck it, can't have the All Star race run the 2016 package and outshine all the other races... stick with 2015!"

:slaphead:

"The competitive success on the track over the first three months of the season assures that the Sprint All-Star Race events will be great for fans in the stands and watching at home.

"NASCAR also made this decision to assure that teams were able to remain focused on 2015 rules, not having to make any kind of adjustments that could take their 'eye off the ball' for the 2015 season."

These two paragraphs make me want to choke a chicken. First, what "competitive success"? Second, who gives a fuck if the teams' fucking eye is off the fucking ball for one fucking goddamn non points race? Seriously, fuck you nascar. lol

The 10 laps at the end is stupid, whoever gets out front has it in the bag (unless Harvick is behind them).

I don't know what this means in India, buddy, but choking a chicken has a entirely different meaning on this side of the pond.

yeah this year's All Star race is already sounding boring to me lol. Hate that they moved the Open to Friday but I understand why they did (try to get more people to go watch the Truck race at the track), can't even remember the last time I was excited for a All Star race, went to the race 2 or 3 times, last one was in 2007 (was in the infield because I raced in one of the support races earlier in the day) and the last in a grandstand was 2003 (was in the old concrete seats on the backstretch (and they were packed too, probably because they were the cheap $20 seats), was randomly pretty cold too even though it was in the middle of May). Was really hoping to see NASCAR use the 2016 rules package for the race to make the race a little bit different for once instead of changing the race lengths or format every 2 years

This has become a stirring tribute to Steve Byrnes.

Quote:
Bristol race renamed to honor Steve Byrnes: In recognition of FOX Sports broadcaster Steve Byrnes' courageous and ongoing battle with head-and-neck cancer, FOX Sports, in coordination with Bristol Motor Speedway, Speedway Motorsports Inc., Stand Up To Cancer and NASCAR, is naming the April 19 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Bristol the Food City 500 In Support Of Steve Byrnes And Stand Up To Cancer. The event, which will be aired live on FOX at 12:30pm/et, pays tribute to Byrnes, a NASCAR television mainstay for 30 years, while also serving as a vehicle of support and awareness for all those battling cancer. Byrnes, co-host of "NASCAR Race Hub" and play-by-play announcer for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, is on a medical leave of absence while he undergoes treatment. He has been part of the FOX NASCAR broadcast team since its inaugural year of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage in 2001. "The support I have received from my teammates at FOX Sports, drivers, team members, track officials, NASCAR and the fans has been overwhelming," Byrnes said. "So many families are affected by cancer, and to play a small part in raising awareness is an honor to me."(FoxSports)(4-10-2015)
