I can't see nascar ever admitting fault over any mistake they make.

In the post-Ray Rice era, he won't get re-instated right away. The media is dumb, but powerful, and that's the main reason he was suspended in the first place. NASCAR's hands were tied - the backlash from suspending him has paled in comparison to what it would have been had they not suspended him. *shrugs*

It sucks, because I've believed she was crazy since day one, but at the same time, agreed with the reasons behind the suspension.

They'll just try and shuffle the blame elsewhere.

Did the NFL or Baltimore Ravens admit they were wrong AND that they lied to the press and fans about the Ray Rice situation? There is no way NASCAR will admit they mishandled Kurt Busch and this matter. NASCAR will simply say that they were acting in the best interests of the sport and considering the gravity of the accusations, they had to take decisive action and show that do not condone domestic violence.

You know, if Kurt's reputation hadn't preceded him and had he not acted like an insufferable shit the last 15 years, maybe Nascar wouldn't have acted so hastily. But Kurt is a deplorable human being, and for once I don't blame Nascar for kicking him to the curb.

So let me ask... anything Tony Stewart ever gets accused of in the future he's automatically guilty and should have the hammer dropped on him because of past incidents? Because that's exactly what you're saying.

Makes sense.

Yes. Those are the exact words I said in the exact context I intended them to be used in.

Reputations aside, if a person is suspended for a crime they were not found guilty of, there's no reasonable grounds left for that suspension to stand.

Kurt has done nothing positive for the sport, ever, and whether or not this is completely true, being suspended under Section 12-4-A "Actions Detrimental To Stock Car Racing" is completely appropriate. He is an embarrassment to the sport, a punchline, an eyesore. Has been for years. To even be in the position he was in is his own undoing. You mean to tell me that someone with a squeaky clean reputation like Matt Kenseth or Jimmie Johnson would have been dealt with so swiftly or harshly? In the real world, people's reputations precede them, especially celebrities. Without knowing the facts, if you had told me last year a Nascar driver would be accused of domestic violence in the following months, Kurt would be at the very top of my list.

I'm no supporter of Kurt. He's a troubled person who doesn't seem to grasp the need to address his issues. But now that the courts have cleared him of any crime, the possibility that he might still be suspended sits uncomfortably with me.

And Section 12-4-A has lost all meaning to me at this point. NASCAR has done way more to damage the series than the misbehavior of their competitors in the last decade.

This means NASCAR will go a different route.

First run with less downforce and softer Goodyear tire. Car felt so good all around with lots of fall off. That was fun! #NASCAR

Turbos in NASCAR? http://gordonkirby.com/categories/colum ... no473.html

An interesting thought, but it may not be that difficult for the stock car culture. IF (big if however) NASCAR can have an eye on the transition that V8 Supercars is about to make, and how that not dissimilar motor racing culture responds to that, they will have at least a slight idea what that will do to the sport.
