The Coca-Cola Cup Series? Kinda has a ring to it.

When I was a kid the....errr some football championship or other was called the Coca Cola cup....
i thought it sounded cool back then tbh.

Saying that, it's bound to become the coke life cup or the sprite cup or whatever brand needs pushing that week.
(Vanilla coke cup ftw)

I wonder of they'll pressure NASCAR to end all Pepsi sponsorship as a side effect too. :o

I imagine it will be like what happened with the other phone companies when Nextel took over, Pepsi and Dr. Pepper will be grandfathered in with their current teams, but won't be able to move to another team. Might see some of the phone companies come back as team sponsors with Sprint leaving as well.

Even if Coke were able to pressure NASCAR to push Pepsi out of sponsorships, they can't prevent them from running their commercials during the TV broadcasts, so Pepsi still has that option.

Great, now I have visions of a returning Brent Sherman competing with JWT for Rookie of The Year.

A racing series that's gone downhill in terms of on-track entertainment over the last few years, sponsored by a mattress company, is the kind of thing where the jokes just write themselves.

Coca-Cola Cup definitely fits, but seems more like the sort of thing someone would call their NR2003 Offline Racing Series tho.

I always wondered why Budweiser didn't step up to the plate with their bottomless pits of money.

As long as they build Coca-Cola Speedway as part of the deal...

NASCAR might be worried about that due to the branding and trying to reach a younger audience. Like the no Bud or Miller or Coors sponsorships showing up in video games, I'm sure they would be limited quite a bit.

That said, AB or specifically Budweiser would be a perfect fit in a perfect world. I'd love it.

Was watching the 2000 Bud Shootout and Qualifying race last night. Thinking about how they continually change the format now that Sprint is the title sponsor and it no longer is associated with poles. You've already got the Sprint All-Star race that rewards winners and champions. If you're calling this the Sprint Unlimited, make it legitimately unlimited. They continually change the rules to keep adding cars to the field. Make it an open qualifier for money only. If 55 cars enter, 55 cars race. If it passes tech, it races. Why exclude the little guys? Front Row, Furniture Row, etc. You're adding cars except all the small teams. Give THEM a chance to run for the cash too. Make the All-Star race very exclusive and make the Unlimited wide open. Maybe there would be more one offs. Maybe you could make it the most exciting event of Speedweeks. Sure if there is a yellow some teams might have to share pit stalls, so you have to compensate for that. Run 25 laps, invert the field, run 25 more laps. Yellow flag laps do not count. Race has to end under green. Pay a huge double up bonus to win segment 1 and segment 2. 75 laps or whatever it is now is too long anyways. It's a race for the fans right? Who wouldn't wanna see that?

Some extras that are only wishful thinking and would never happen in the name of safety. This race only eliminate the yellow line rule and allow racing back to the flag. Then they wouldn't just be hugging the yellow line knowing they can't get passed. Will they wreck? Probably. Will someone die? Probably not.

Well, all 3 of their drivers ended up top 10 in points, despite one of them DNQing for a race and 2 of the 3 drivers were rookies. I think Roush-Fenway is more than decent.

I know but I just feel he deserves better than RFR equipment. But it's not hard finishing in the top 10 in Xfinity points when running for a Cup team.

Yea Roush should focus on Xfinity since it seems the Cup program is diminishing fast.

Oh God XFinity is Nationwide/Busch/Grand National?

I've seen you guys post about the XFinity series but honestly thought it was something to do with those stadium trucks Robbie Gordon runs, I completely missed the announcement where Nationwide said they were leaving and XFinity took over...

Ehhhh, that's gonna be an adjustment.
