Good race typical Cup winner.

No problem with Larson winning. My grade on the race is 6/10. Even though there were more lines to run, there wasn't as much excitement as years past. Imo.

thought it was a good race, happy that Larson finally got a W in this race. Would of been interesting if Heffner didn't have those mechanical issues earlier I think.

Thanks to that audio issue, we know KW interviewed 4th place griffin, but FS1 decided to run to mlb highlights instead of playing it.

I cut my Sirius subscription off the other day, so I don't know what they will say about it this year... but anyway, after this race last year all of the Sirius NASCAR bunch said NASCAR would not add another dirt race because it would take away the spectacle and uniqueness of Eldora, and that by adding more dirt races, the fans would grow tired of it.

Typical Dave Moody and Chocolate Myers bullshit.

Apparently the the income from the Brickyard 400 weekend is getting dangerously close to a break-even for the speedway. After running some calculations, just with the "projected" ticket sales of $8-8.5 million this weekend, they will only bring in about $2 million profit. They said it costs them around $10 million to put on the entire event. 2003 had over $20 million in ticket sales...

Can't say that looks great for the future of NASCAR at IMS.

I feel like there is no way they profit from the Xfinity race and that it actually costs more to put it on than what it brings in. But that's a whole other set of numbers. It was pretty much a still born event from the start.

Those are shocking numbers...well not really when you think how there hasn't been a single highlight at this track in almost 10 years. Unless this race is the best in history expect them to loose money starting next year.

I hope that doesn't take into account TV money cos if it does then they're loosing tons already.

Might have been discussed earlier in this thread but did anyone notice early on when Wallace was in the stands interviewing Jack Hewitt, some old dude in the seat behind him, as soon as he realized there was a camera there, hurriedly covered his face with a kerchief that was already tied around his neck like it was ready to go. There's definitely a story there lol

After everything is accounted for, vendor projections, TV money etc... they bring home $2 million when it's all said and done. (IMS not NASCAR)
