So who is going home since truck and nationwide quals will be rained out? No doubt a few big names, I hope Nemecheck gets a spot somehow.

I really like this picture of Martin Truex Jr's crash.

Nice photo. Sucks for him getting wrecked in a race he didn't need to be in.

from the results, it looks like R Truex missed getting in the race by one spot. he finished behind a wrecked Waltrip

Don't forget: new qualifying format today. (assuming it isn't a washout)

True, but he could've parked it at the pitstop. I seem to remember guys doing that reasonably often back in the day. Run 30-40 laps then park it.

Yeah, that would be pretty disappointing. Nationwide are supposed to be using the new system too, right?

Btw, I'm just now noticing how lucky Larson got in that wreck last night. He was boxed in on all sides when the 15 came across the pack and everything just split apart perfectly for him.

Jimmie Johnson was the last one to make it in on Duel position in 16th. When the wreck happened, even though Ryan was in the lead pack, he was one lap down, So once the white flag flew, his fate was sealed anyhow.

Doesnt this happen every year where we worry about the weather? Damnit Florida. Cant you be in a drought just for this weekend?

PS it doesnt help that nobody can predict the weather worth a damn. Theyll say 90% chance of rain and its sunny or 20% chance of rain and its thunderstorms. In fact, weather.com says 40% chance of rain at 7pm, accuweather says something like 10%, so my assumption is this: :?

The rain has begun, now the waiting game. I would guess Nationwide and Truck quals are done. 2.5 hours to dry the track, and the truck race might start on time. Since they revert to combined practice speeds, Ben Kennedy would be on pole for the trucks, and how about that Bobby Gerhart on the pole for the Nationwide race! It's all a big "if" but that's the way it's layed out.

Yup. I'm curious to see it, especially at plate tracks.

Per twitter, just started raining.

Yep at the track. Started to rain, the big stuff is still on the way. Was looking forward to the new qualifying too. Oh well.

Looks to me like the rain will be fine until around the truck race start time. Figures.

Trying to follow on twitter. Sounds like a hard wreck already in NNS quals. It is guaranteed to be an exciting session because I forgot to set my DVR this morning.

First victim of group qualifying this season: Ryan Reed, who spun and hit the inside wall on the backstretch.

I can see rain off turn 2. Might only get this first segment in. Also as an aside espn is quite boring on the scanner compared to fox.

Green back out. They better hurry and post laps before heavy rain hits the track.
