Hate to hear the news about Bayne. Seems like he and Vickers have the shittiest luck when it comes to off-track health issues.

Well, one bit of encouraging news regarding Trevor Bayne's MS diagnosis is that Kelly Sutton was able to race for quite a while with MS.

Kelly Sutton was in the truck. I wouldn't call what she did racing, per se....

I didn't say she was doing well at it. She was at least driving.

She is one of the few who have ever flipped in the Truck Series...

Annett moving to Cup with Tommy Baldwin Racing: Tommy Baldwin Racing has signed driver Michael Annett and partnered with Pilot Flying J for the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Annett, whose NASCAR career began at Bill Davis Racing under the tutelage of Baldwin, reunites with his mentor after five seasons of competing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Wont be a productive year, but another decent name to the best rookie class since probably 2004

A Dillon, Annett, Larson, and Allgaier Rookie of the Year battle would be the most productive since 2006.

If Larson's Denny and Dillon's Truex Jr., then Allgaier's Sorenson and Annett is Yeley.

Looks that way. It sounds like he might run more sprint car races next year and follow Ryan's career.

I'm glad that Tommy Baldwin finally has a stable sponsor for a full season. I know he's been looking for one for years.

Now, it makes me wonder who is going to drive for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Nationwide Series. Will it be Corey Lajoie, Ryan Truex or will they split time in the #43 car. RPM announced that Fresh From Florida will be sponsoring their car in a couple of races next year.

According to Jayski, Nelson Piquet Jr. is going back to the truck series next year.

Tyler Reddick to race for Brad Keselowski Racing in 2014 in the #19 for around 15 races.
Brad Keselowski Racing | PR wrote:
MOORESVILLE, NC (November 16, 2013) - Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) announced today that rising star driver Tyler Reddick will pilot the No. 19 BKR Ford F-150 for the team that is owned by the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion and 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion.

Reddick will compete in at least fifteen (15) events during the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season, and contest the entire Series schedule in 2015. The BBR Music Group, which has supported Reddick as he has climbed the racing ladder, will join BKR as a sponsor. The record label group, whose roster of talented artists includes multi-platinum country superstar Jason Aldean, will be the primary sponsor for four (4) races in 2014 as well an associate sponsor for the additional races in which Reddick will drive. In 2015 the BBR Music Group will expand its presence with Reddick and the BKR team to 12 primary sponsor races and 10 associate sponsor races.

"Tyler caught my eye at the Rockingham NASCR K&N Pro Series East race in November of 2012. I continued to follow his progress and he definitely made a positive impression on me and our competition staff at BKR. We're pleased to be able to bring Tyler into the program that, with the support of the BBR Music Group, Ford, and long-time BKR partners Cequent and Cooper Standard, has a very solid foundation to compete for wins and championships in the coming seasons. We look forward to helping develop Tyler into a championship-caliber driver and ultimately seeing him progress within NASCAR," said Keselowski.

Reddick started racing at the age of four-years old in Outlaw Karts where he developed and enhanced his driving skills weekly for the next seven years. At the age of 13, Reddick's family moved from California to the Midwest where he began racing mini sprints, 410 sprint cars, and super late models. At age 16 Tyler moved to asphalt and in his NASCAR debut, won the K&N Pro East Series race at Rockingham in 2012. For the past couple of seasons Reddick has competed in the Late Model Dirt Series, K&N Pro Series, and other NASCAR development series.

"I'm thrilled to be joining Brad and BKR in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series," said Reddick. "As Brad is one of the young champion superstars in the sport today, I am confident I can learn a lot from him not just from a driving and competition standpoint, but also how to build a team around me and engage with sponsors and the media at the NASCAR level. I have no doubt that this is going to be a tremendous experience as I look to progress within the sport."

"We are excited to partner with Brad Keselowski and the BKR team for the 2014 and 2015 seasons," said Benny Brown, founder of the BBR Music Group. "NASCAR will be a great promotional platform for our label group and its artists, and aligning with a champion driver in Brad and a successful team in BKR that is solidly established for the long-term will provide BBR and Tyler with some tremendous opportunities going forward."

I remember the K & N East race Tyler won. That was impressive. He's also done very well in the Lucas Oil Late Model series. Like the hire, hate the firing of Ross Chastain though.

Yea, I was really hoping Blaney would move up to NNS in the #22 while Chastain got the #29 fulltime. Oh well.

I think Ross Chastain showed what he can do in the truck series, especially the second half of the year. He was running consistently better from race to race and had a chance at a couple of wins. I think somebody will pick him up. RCR is planning on running 2 trucks next year but he hasn't announced any drivers. I can see a fit there.

Let's hope so but I hate RCR so it'll be hard to root for him anymore.

Im calling Parker Kligerman to the 30 Swan racing ride for another rookie contender, top 20 and a 25th in the two races he ran, both on the lead lap...thats more than that team has ever done with any of their other drivers. And with the news that KBM is shutting down the 77 team, this make all the more sense.

Post subject:  Re: Random NASCAR Discussion

I spent a couple weeks in Mooresville before and after Martinsville, heard a lot of rumors... But they are just that, rumors.

Apparently Parker is going back to Red Horse full time in the truck series.

NTS is going to Toyota next year, with Piquet and Newberry; Gray Gaulding is supposedly driving the less than 1 mile tracks in a 3rd truck. Though KBM has been trying to bring that Krispy Kreme money over.

*shrugs*

I've grown to be less excited about the sport the more time I spend up there, just knowing how it works behind the scenes with driver and team relationships.
