With 55 laps to go, there are 5 cars on the lead lap in the ARCA race. The car in 6th place is 5 laps down and that car is being driven by Milka Duno. They are under caution for a multi-car crash which collected leader Mason Mingus. Mason Mitchell leads Kyle Weatherman

Just after the restart, Frank Kimmel retook the lead. It looks like 13 cars are still on track.

When I saw Johnson was gonna restart 2nd, I was curious how it'd play out. This may sound dumb, but I feel that Johnson isn't that good when he has to really work hard for a position. He's looped it multiple times when trying to pass someone down low at these kinds of tracks.

The ones I remember off hand are today obviously, and then Charlotte earlier this year, and Charlotte in October in 2011.

ARCA race is done. Glad Basham finished 11th. If anyone wants to post my cell phone pics from the track on here from FB I don't mind, posted a few today.

Frank Kimmel held off Austin Wayne Self's late charge to pick up career win #79, to tie Iggy Katona's career win's record. Kyle Weatherman, now has 2 top 5 finishes in 3 ARCA starts, after he finished 4th.

Kimmel lead the entire first half of the race before Mason Mingus passed him for the lead and was driving away from Kimmel before being involved in a wreck. It sounds like Cody Lane got into Milka Duno going into turn 1 and they spun, Brad Lloyd, James Swanson and Mingus got involved. Mingus lost 18 laps getting repairs.

Here are a few pictures that Jeff posted on Facebook today.

What's left of the #06 of James Swanson after the pileup in turn 1.

Here is what's left of Brad Lloyd's #69 car that was also caught up in the wreck in turn 1. Lloyd was running either on the lead lap or was 1 lap down before this.

Image

Cody Lane's torn up #40 from the same crash. Roger Carter III's #97 in the background was involved in the same wreck.

Carter had lost his motor when he came by the flagstand, and as a result, had no power to avoid the wreck.

In addition to my earlier cell phone pictures, snagged a shot of Frank Kimmel and Darrell Basham with a security guy "hard at work" by the pits.

Stuff like this is what makes ARCA fun.

James Swanson was hospitalized and released the same day for apparently suffering a dislocated shoulder after Brad Lloyd T-boned the back of his car.

Also, it was discovered a few days later that Roger Carter suffered a concussion in that same crash and received treatment in a North Carolina hospital.
