It would change him if they park him the rest of the year.

Sounds like they might just do that from what Mike Helton just said.

What makes you think that? I never really heard him indicate anything more than what he explicitly stated.

I don't think they'll park him any more than this weekend, because on the Speed interview he did, he said how parking him this weekend is a pretty big penalty in itself.

Also, how do you set precedent? Why does this deserve parking vs what Kenseth did to Vickers, or Edwards to Keselowski in '09, etc? Just yellow vs green?

He was just interviewed him during Cup practice by Speed's Bob Dillner. Said they will talk more on Monday about the situation.

There is always hope.

I believe he was already on probation for the Darlington race earlier this year. Plus the caution was already out for a good 10-15 seconds and he still turned Hornaday into the wall. That probably had a LOT to do with it. If the incident would have happened under green, might not be talking as much about it.....

In my opinion, they should have parked Edwards for what happened with him at Atlanta. The spring dega race in 09 was Carl wrecking himself. He came down when Keselowski was there.

But whatever, just happy the did something this time.

SHOCKED that NASCAR did this. I mean, I appluad them, but wow. Didn't think they had the balls to do this to a 'superstar.' Good job NASCAR.

Yeah I meant the Atlanta one, not Dega.

I think the caution and the length of time he was pushing/trying to crash Hornaday is what did it. I also think their probation was over, I think it was just like 4 weeks.

Not to mention when Kyle hooked Harvick earlier this year was also about the same amount of time after the caution had waved, and he also turned him in front of the pack. Kyle has built himself a resume this year of intentional wrecking and varios run ins. It's about time NASCAR finally stood up and said "no more".

One can hope this will set a newer precedent. I know it's caused feuding among drivers that has added an element of interest to these races, but the drivers seem to think it's all ok just to hook somebody in the right rear after a bump and a scrape and call it equal. It's dangerous and just plain bad racing.

I believe you are right about the suspension only being 4 weeks.

NASCAR made a sensible decision? I like.

So glad to be wrong on this one, I really thought NASCAR wouldn't do shit. Could be the best thing to happen to Busch, as Harvick being parked in 2002 really seemed to mature him fast. But maybe it's coming too late for Kyle.

Helton added that further penalties could be announced for Busch next week.

Go on, tell him to fuck off 'til February.

Looking forward to Sunday now, Michael McDowell has had a HUGE opportunity handed to him. It'd be really cool to see him be able to make something of it.

Woke up and read the news, Im so happy NASCAR finally dropped the hammer on Kyle. He's never going to learn to stop being reckless and putting other drivers in danger unless he was finally punished severely.

Im hoping he finally learns from something and ACTUALLY matures (You really have to wonder how stupid those saying Kyle was matured at the start of the season feel especially in the last few weeks ), but just based on what Ive seen, he's probably going to need more hard lesions before really turning the corner. An ego this big and hot-headed isnt likely to change overnight.

I was surprised enough that they parked Kyle for the weekend.

If they parked him for the rest of the season, I'll never call Helton, France, or any of NASCAR's higher-ups incompetent again.

NASCAR's got to set a precedent for this stuff. Lee Pulliam was suspended indefinitely on the grass roots level for retailiation after the checkered flag for an incident that happened very early in a late model race. Kyle didn't even wait 10 seconds to retaliate. They need to throw the book at him too.

Honest to God, I'm about as surprised as you are. Yeah, it's a bit inconsistent since Jeff Burton did the exact same thing last year, but at least Burton owned up to it. Kyle Busch does what Kyle Busch would do.

I was hoping "rest of the season," but this will suffice. Fans are affected, sponsorship revenue is affected, driver points in Cup are affected, owner points in the Busch and Truck (don't forget Cup) are affected. That is a big penalty in itself.

Maybe he'll get the rest-o-season if he did the same thing in Phoenix, but I'm hoping Kyle looks back to this incident and vows that he'll never do it again. Ever.

Saw what Kyle Busch did on SportsCenter last night. I immediately thought that he shouldn't be allowed the race for at least the rest of the weekend, and woke up this morning to see that NASCAR had done just that.

I'd say the message NASCAR is getting across for this to Kyle is "if you're going to wreck Ron Hornaday's title hopes in the Truck Series, we're wrecking your title hopes in the Chase by parking your ass." Justice served.
