To anybody that picked Tony Stewart in the pick 'ems thread, I have posted an announcement over there if you want to submit a new set of picks should Tony not race tomorrow.

Glad for Marcos - imagine him winning tomorrow and both RPM cars getting into the Chase... who would have called that one??

In any case, unrelated to today's race, I got home from my Pocono trip earlier todat. When I finally got onto Twitter, some guy from ESPN asked me if they could use the clip I uploaded to YouTube during tomorrow's broadcast. It wasn't anything big - just me and the rest of the crowd losing their shit at the finish of last week's race... still, this guy (who I have never heard of) wanted my permission before going ahead to use it in the broadcast.

I'm guessing it'll be some kind of "fans go crazy when Redneck Jesus wins" compilation, but it'll be interesting to see if they actually use my clip. I kinda fed off the energy from the crowd at the end, and I'm guessing that would be what they'd use, if anything. haha

Dude you should be paid for that shit! :p *turns camera around and films himself screaming!*

Good NW race yesterday, hoping for more of the same in cup today.
Assuming the race will be viewed under a bit of a cloud which is inevitable, but hey, Watkins Glen did nothing wrong so lets relax and enjoy some tast road course racing.

Also: Idea, if the Cup guys want to run NW races, make them start from the back.
They'll still be at the front before 50 to go, but yesterday watching the 09 come through the field on the on-board shots we got during US ad breaks was brilliant, could watch that all day.

It won't change the results, but it'd make getting there all the more fun for us ;)

I somehow think that the clip won't be shown today... just a gut feeling. The coverage now has bigger fish to fry.

I'm feeling like this will be an awkward broadcast

And it is now official, Tony Stewart has been withdrawn from the race. Regan Smith to drive in replacement.

Yes

Though in my opinion, maybe he shouldn't until 2015 when all this is cleared up.

What time is the green today?

Is this and TUSC off at pretty much the same time?

Gotta wonder what they were thinking scheduling TUSC on the same weekend as a roadcourse.

Well considering who runs things these days it's pretty much NASCAR scheduling against itself, for whatever reason.

Maybe they want to keep all those pesky road course ringers in Road America....

The whole road course ringers idea is basically gone/ded. They were worth more to a team 10-15 yrs ago but now just about every cup driver can handle a RC track as good as ringers could.

When have the "ringers" ever done well in cup? I just seem to remember a lot of wrecks and very few good finishes. The only time a ringer is useful is to small teams with smaller drivers who couldn't get it done on a road courses, but even those days are pretty much over
