I wonder how he convinced Frank to be the reserve.

Maybe so, or maybe Stefmeister found the news to suit better to this thread. I think you make this assumption with quite light basis.

And in the end it's everyone's free choice to ignore another person on the forum if one wants to do so. I don't feel myself as a "poor sod" if someone decides to ignore me.

Earlier I was looking at some comparatives between 2014 and 2015 to see who's made progress and who hasn't (based on practice 2 results). Here's what I found:

2014 - Max Chilton, Marussia-Ferrari - 1m43.638s
2015 - Will Stevens, Marussia-Ferrari - 1m45.704s

Gain/Loss - 2.1s slower

2014 - Jenson Button, McLaren-Mercedes - 1m40.628s
2015 - Fernando Alonso, McLaren-Honda - 1m42.506s

Gain/Loss - 1.9s slower

2014 - Romain Grosjean, Lotus-Renault - 1m42.531s
2015 - Pastor Maldonado, Lotus-Mercedes - 1m41.877s

Gain/Loss - 0.7s faster

Red Bull are 0.4s slower, Mercedes are just over 0.1s faster and Ferrari are 0.2 slower.

The interesting thing I take out of this is that Manor has next to no resources and the car has just ran for the first time today, so their pace is understandable and they will move forward. McLaren on the other had has resources among the finest in the sport and they've had a testing program (on circuit and simulator) running for many months. Of the two, Manor's performance is mightily more impressive.

What would Montoya do?

Just kidding, thanks for the info. Strange that in Melbourne and Jerez (or Barcelona?) they were way quicker, the good cars that is (Mercedes etc)

For Australian viewers, this round of the Formula 1 championship will not be broadcast live or delayed. Instead, we will only get a 1hour highlight on Monday after the race... Seems like we are getting the same deal as the European viewers...

Quote:
Channel 10 (Free To Air)

Channel Ten will continue to show all nineteen rounds (This year’s German Grand Prix cancelled) of the 2015 Grand Prix championship on free to air TV, but only ten of the races will be telecast live, and the Malaysian Grand Prix isn’t one of them. The remaining races will be shown as one hour highlights on the Monday night after the event.

Does anyone have a live streaming link for the races or qualifying?

I managed to con a mate into giving me one of the 3 foxtel go spots you get with a foxtel package. You can have up to 3 computers linked to the account to get full fox access. If you guys have fam or friends with fox it's worth asking, even if you pay them 10 a month or something, very much worth it.

I do that. I'm in China and use my folks Foxtel Go account. This year they are showing every practice, qualy and race live. Same with V8s. Though I need to use an Oz VPN to access it.

If I was still in Oz and didn't have Foxtel I would be fucking livid. In fact even though I'm not in Oz I am still livid with this. Guess that was part of the deal with Foxtel showing everything live. I use their services...but fuck Foxtel. Their whole schtick when first started was everything commercial free. Now its just as bad, if not worse than free to air TV yet they continue to jack up the prices and monopolize the market. For the non Aussies...Foxtel is Rupert Murdoch owned.

Mehri's having a bitch of a time with the rear brakes on that Manor. Both his spins have been clearly caused by rear lockups.

That Honda sounds just plain weird. If they get the reliability and ERS to work, could it be possible that they are suddenly a challenger for Mercedes?

It comes quickly though. End last year it was sunny, few clouds around and within 20 laps the race had been red flagged from a monsoon. You can never be sure there.
