I guess the time of great races at the start of the season is over (usually the opening 3 or 4 races were pretty crazy with unpredictable results). Last year the opening 3 races were very boring but then the rest of the season was very good. Let's try to stay positive and hope it's the same this year.

Sauber did really well, they are now 3rd in the constructors championship, just 1pt behind the works Ferrari team. Also, 7 out of the 10 teams this year have already scored points.....

So the best McLaren car Button has ever driven is good enough for a last place finish 2 laps down. They maybe saying the chasis is fantastic, its just the engine that is crap....but I always thought what made a great car was the entire car. So a fantastic car with a shit engine, or a fantastic engine with a shit car is still....a shit car.

Also with Renault and Red Bull seemingly on the way to a falling out, who could they possibly turn to? or do they have the resources/means to build their own engine? Throughout their entire relationship they haven't always been happily married have they. Was it 2011 or 2012 where they were trying to get a Merc engine?

What bothered me was that they called out the safety car after the leader was just through the complex of 3-4-5. They should have let them race until the last sector at least before neutralizing the race with safety car conditions. There were some great battles going on and this totally took the excitement of the start away, when everyone's fighting with everyone else.

it was by far the worst race broadcast in history, late night races are supposed to be made for the fans, and not putting some random people from the channel to chit chat about it

about the race itself, it kinda remember me those races when less than 10 cars finished, but now it was just sad

Less than 10 cars finishing is ok if more than 15 cars take the start. That means something has happened.

I mean that if 20 cars had started, some 15 would have finished and it'll be ok. but now we had a grid that looked like F3000 in their last years

I miss races when 22 cars started and 7 finished

Moan about not enough break downs, moan about too many.

It was just unfortunate that two had problems going around to the grid.

I don't think anyone moans about not enough breakdowns. It is what makes/made races spectacular and unpredictable.

Haha, F1 has lost the "pinnacle of motorsport" title long long time ago, time to accept it my friend. :)

Is there a "pinnacle" of Motorsport these days and if so, what is it? So many series have gone downhill in the past 10-15 years.

F1 is the pinnacle to the mainstream fans, but it never lives up to that expectation in the minds of the passionate racing fan.

10 races live on BBC1 and the rest highlights is more of the pinnacle than 6 hours live on Eurosport, or all races on ITV4 or whatever

In the UK at least, it goes F1---->BTCC---->Formula E------>Whatever channel 4 show on Saturday mornings (Was GT/F3)

In terms of hybrid technology (that F1 now is), LeMans is way far ahead!

Here are a few photos I got across the weekend.

I was fortunate enough to have the most interesting thing in the race (Pastor binning it) happen in front of me haha
