Pablo Elizalde @EliGP

I bet Manor can't race because they turned on their computers after a while and Windows had like 350 updates.

As someone who got a new PC on Sunday, this is plausible.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Does this count as force majeure or as a no-show?

For 2002, Walkinshaw made a deal to use Cosworth V10 engines and retained Bernoldi (with support from Red Bull) but dropped Verstappen in favour of Heinz-Harald Frentzen who became available when Prost Grand Prix closed down. This caused Verstappen to successfully sue for breach of contract. That year also saw a costly payout to Pedro Diniz after unsuccessfully suing the Brazilian, who had taken his funding to Sauber for 1999. The team faced a third litigation from Frentzen, who was on contract by a race-by-race basis and who had not yet been paid. Arrows ran out of money in the midseason and did not appear at all the races at the end of the year, their drivers deliberately failing to qualify for the French Grand Prix.

wow, I learned at least 3 new things in that article.
Didn't Arrows still transport its cars to the Belgian GP?

What a tast car that was. I have both in 1:18.

I believe they came to one more race (Hungary or Spa), at least the cars, I think I have seen either footage trough a garage door or photo's from them. I remember Dutch fans having made a banner "TOM EAT SHIT AND DIE" and showed it at I believe Melbourne :p

So let's get this straight...

Manor could not get onto the track due to software issues
Sauber might get it's cars impounded
McLaren will barely cover any laps
Force India expects not to have a positive weekend

Well that's only 12 cars left then.

Didn't Minardi go to court in Australia one year just before the season started?
In 2005 they missed all of the Friday running because they turned up with a 2004 spec car & therefore failed scrutineering.

Paul Stoddart took the FIA to court insisting he should be allowed to race with 2004 spec cars, He won an injunction allowed them to take part on Saturday but ended up converting the 2004 cars to 2005 spec anyway, Later saying he was only trying to prove a point.

I never did quite understand what he was trying to do that weekend, If they had the 2005 spec parts & could have converted the 2004 cars to meet the 2005 aero regulations then why waste time going through the courts insisting they could only run with the 2004 spec cars.

some journalists here believe that this whole van der garde case is a set up for a team takeover to his father in law and then he could resell it with a profit for someone else

So, if only 16 cars can run, does this invoke the 3rd car rules or no?

I think 16 is the minimum they can afford.

But if Hulk breaks down on the way to the grid again...

Well its one way he made his fortune. With Renault looking to buy a team I'd also consider getting a share in a potential target.

Judging by Sauber's situation, 3rd cars would help right now, wouldn't it?

This whole saga is just a disgrace.

To me, as an spectator, this is just great. I'm not excited for what will happen on track, when it comes to F1. I'm not much interested in the pecking order, who will win and etc. Racing wise, I'm much more excited for Formula E this weekend than Australian GP. The thing that makes F1 appeals to me these days are these sagas like Alonso's crash and VdG/Sauber trial
