To add to this, it is indeed a Concorde requirement that teams enter two cars - Marussia have apparently sought assurance from Bernie that they won't be punished, and he has been human for once.

I wouldn't cheer too soon. After all we're talking Bernie here.... :(

I actually quite like it, Especially from the OnBoard's it looks like a fun, challenging & technical track to drive with some interesting bits.

Turn 1 looks quite bumpy, The long left at turn 3 is just about flat with cars moving around a bit through the middle/exit, Some of the medium speed stuff through sector 2 looks quite technical/challenging & the left sweeping braking zone into turn 11 looks quite tricky & interesting. I also think the turns 13/14 chicane is quite tricky as there's a smallish hump in the middle & lots of cars drivers were making little errors there.

Looking forward to getting to drive round it myself in the Sim-world in the F1 game next week :)

Looks like they've really gone and compensated for the loss of Valencia and Korea. :slaphead:

just seen a lap onboard.

I think it's an inspiring mix of the most exciting corners of Abu Dhabi, Valencia and Korea.

sure wouldn't want my car to fail in turn 1 though.

I'm trying really hard to be positive and see all that I love about F1 this year, but I just can't. This sure is one bland and soulless track.

It doesn't seem there is any atmosphere there at all. Especially for an inaugural race.

The best events have the best atmosphere - Adelaide, Singapore, Monaco, Silverstone, Austin, Brazil, Suzuka, Long Beach. It seems many tracks from the last decade have a lack of soul.

Russia had infinite amount of money, so why didn't they build proper race circuit for example on those hills seen in the distance.
All recent tracks and future tracks are so bland and sterile abudhabivalenciahermantilke-esque creations while it would be nice some country to do sparedbullringjohnhugenholtz-esque creations.

Disagree with SKY team here, not Bruno Senna though cause he is basically saying an over reaction. That is an over reaction for a red flag.

I don't know where he has stopped because I'm not watching it, but a red flag for a car stopped on track isn't that unusual in practice.

Could be an amusing idea for a winter special - McLaren did actually run on snow in 2000-ish, on special Bridgestone spikes.

They could open up a wildcard entry, so that an ex-F1 Chamonix refugee can take part. Alain Prost could probably still keep up then.
