So well, Ricciardo's stock has risen even more hasn't it? He has pawned a 4 time world champion this year, and has to surely be a contributing factor in Vettel suddenly jumping this year.

I can see Vettel's thinking along the lines of this: Newey has gone (well in a very diminished capacity), there is the lure of Ferrari, the Renault engine is a bigger piece of shit than the Ferrari, he is being dominated by his team mate, there is the slight lingering doubt about his 4 titles (unjustified in my opinion) particularly considering Dan's dominance this year, and time for a change of scenery.

But, if the Red Bull was more competitive this year I can bet you that he would have stayed.

What if Alonso and Kimi stay, and Vettel will be the first confirmed driver of the third car?

that would be a shocker but too many rumors of Alonso leaving. Cant see that happen.

If STR signs Sainz Jr to replace Kvyat, Verstappen is the most experienced driver in the team

Lost in the shrapnel is the news that Will Stevens has come into some money from somewhere and is angling for a Marussia seat next year. He would have done FP1 this weekend but the team couldn't adjust the car in time.

This could be to replace Chilton, who has been supposedly linked by the BBC to a FIF1 drive replacing Perez, although I cannot find any mention of it on their website.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I read it too, that Chilton would become a Force India driver next year.

I get that feeling too.

Would Ron Dennis be that vindictive enough to string Alonso along, make him play his hand, and then at the last minute back flip on him leaving Alonso high and dry, thus getting his own back for 2007? Was suggested more tongue in cheek on Sky F1 during FP3.

I just fear that Alonso's politicking has finally caught up with him and if it is his downfall would be of his own accord. Hope not, but fear maybe.

That is all, thank you.

The NBCSN crew suggested during qualifying that Dennis may still be feeling sore for the fact that Alonso's attitude in 2007 nearly sunk McLaren after they received the $100m fine. Can't say I fully agree with that logic.

If it came down to it, Ferrari could keep Alonso & either replace Raikkonon who really has underperformed since his back surgery late last year, or give him a 3rd car.

Crazy idea here.

Ferrari has said on multiple occasions they wanted to run a 3th car, preferably under the flag of an US based team. Haas F1 is most likely running Ferrari engines and other technology.
How far fetched would it be that Alonso joins Haas F1, tests a lot for the majority of 2015 and races there for 2016. Maybe even with a share in the team (like Stewart-Haas in NASCAR). Haas has his experienced driver and Ferrari their 3th (and 4th) car under the US Flag.

Unless the rules have changed, Haas F1 starts in 2016 and therefor does not have to follow any rule for F1 teams until then so they're free to test whenever, wherever they want like Toyota was doing as well.

That is a great idea. But considering the relationship between Ferrari and Alonso is apparently so poor at the moment, I can't see why Ferrari would try to do something like this.

Ferrari could pick one of their test drivers to develop parts while testing the Haas. Which means that de la Rosa could be back again

Don't the engine manufacturers get a total amount of credits they can use to alter their engines in the next couple of years? I remember reading that Renault would possibly use up their credits to alter their engine by as much as 40%.

If so, doesn't that mean that theoretically Hass can develop and test the Ferrari engine as an independant customized engine and then "on sell" the engine technology back to Ferrari?
