Not particular a fan of Kolles, but he sure does have some loyalty towards his drivers. Albers, Lotterer, Sakon Yamamoto. All have had in some way had second chances in teams of his.

I wouldn't call this "a second chance" for Lotterer. It's more of a "please help us!" from Caterham. Few drivers in any series does more mileage than Lotterer or is more respected in what he does, it sounds more like Caterham want a third driver to evaluate their car and to give them feedback. Getting Lotterer in there in such a case is a bit of "thinking outside the box" for sure.

LOLWHOOPS

When you thought his career couldn't get worse, it happens again. And with Holland being all going mental about Verstappen I doubt it will improve anytime soon.

Haha, that was such a score for Frijns... Has there been any words on his position with Caterham since the take-over?

In any case, Lotterer has way more experience with racing cars than him, just not in contemporary F1 cars. It just sounds like Caterham's situation is truely desperate.

In Dutch media Albers said he still needs to improve on lot of different fronts. Other words for: 'He doesn't bring any money'.

It's all so utterly pointless. Lotterer isn't going to give them any more pace or perspective on the car than Kobayashi can - probably less. With no testing in advance he'll probably be the slowest car on track all weekend (yes slower than Erikkson). And if he's bringing no funding at all them it's even more insane.

Kolles, Albers and Co will run this team into the ground in no time at all.

Looks like it won't rain at all this weekend unless perhaps a small shower on Saturday.

Lotterer confirmed! I really hope that he can impress this weekend. He has one of the most impressive resumes of the non-F1 drivers in the world. I reckon that Caterham, and Ericsson in particular, has more to learn from him than he has from them.

He's going to do terrible. He's a fantastic driver, but he's being dumped into a crap car, in a crap team, with no running, at Spa of all places.
