Italy: championship is tied, full rating, a ferrari wins at ferrari home gp.

It is my prediction, and yes, I do believe a Ferrari is going to win the Italian GP, rating this year are so bad, just watch the attendance at the Germany GP, and it is germany! a racing country, michael schumacher country. if the grandstands are like that there imagine other tracks in country with no racing tradition. :8:
Put your money where your mouth is then and place the bets. You will get good returns on Ferrari winning at Monza.

lol

Anyway, the problem with F1 drivers and double-waved yellows is that no driver wants to be the guy that loses time by slowing down more than everyone else. Obviously Lewis is going to keep going round that last corner pretty quickly because he's trying to catch guys in front and there's no guarantee that they will slow down much. As with most racing, it's a high speed game of chicken

In any case, that's irrelevant to the situation here - the safety car's been deployed for far less in the past, and it's the lack of consistency that's the problem. I know these guys deal in danger but it was pretty dangerous. Safety in F1 is about minimising risk and you can't really say they did that there

Having any flag condition that requires drivers just to not pass and "not go too fast" is pretty ridiculous as a safety measure IMO - if Lewis took that corner at 200kph instead of his usual 220kph does that really make the situation any safer for a marshall running across the track?

IMO anything that requires a marshall to stand on the racing surface more than a few seconds or in a blind corner should be a safety car situation.

that situation IMHO needed a safety car.

It's so weird, every new track has now a mile wide tarmac run off area, all for safety reasons.

But when there's a car stationary and marshalls need to cross the track, then no safety car? Chances for a freak accident might have not been big, but it could have been. Like someone mentioned, doing 200 kph instead of the usual 220 kph does not make much difference, in fact because you are out of your rythm, it could be even more dangerous. There could have been oil on track resulting in a spin etc etc

Thanks guys for giving me the reason. We all know it was a SC situation, and we all know why it wasn't called.

Looking forward for the next race, little bit of rain would help :).
