Short of a brake failure causing Perez to veer to the left, I'm not sure how they could explain it away - he changed lanes in a braking zone and without that the collision wouldn't have occurred, pretty simple.

Not to discuss the crash further, but his testimony shouldn't bring anything new if their statement was already based on objective proof or data.

It still doesn't excuse them to not even hear the defendant before sentencing him, especially if he was being checked at the hospital. Not very classy.
