Glad somebody said it. Agreed completely Talladega but wasn't going to bring it up.

But it was a fantastic qualifying anyway. Williams were disappointing come Q3.

That was live on RTL this morning. Was funny hearing him talk about it like that - but as RTL didn't say a word (surely they mixed it up as well), I started to worry about my attention. 8) Funnily Niki Lauda also got it wrong, if I remember correclty saying something like "I'd rather would have had Hamilton on pole, but it's great nonetheless." Funny stuff. :D

Williams were only slow in Q3 because they made the wrong tyre choice.

I hope we can see a dry race. Not that I don't want emotion but I think the rule changes are enough emotions for now. We need to see what teams and drivers are capable of in dry conditions first.

Just wait until Hamilton grabs pole in front of them :slaphead:

By Barcelona, Red Bull will be already dominating the field and they will love it if Ricci take it away from Vettel

After what happened this weekend, I think we won't see anywhere near as DNF as was being expected prior to the Friday. I'm expeting some 15-18 cars to finish it now

More testament to the belief that the Red Bull has absurd levels of grip and that once Renault get their shit sorted out they will be winning by 2 laps.

Everyone else in Q3 on inters made a mistake. Alonso started on them and had to switch to wets.

Another 2013 it is then.

Did FOM show how Kimi lost the car? If so, I missed it

Is it just me, or was everything Lotus did completely stupid? It's pouring rain, the car is clearly fundamentally broken, Romain is out on slicks, and they're telling him to drive faster. They're lucky he didn't tell them to go fuck themselves. I know Red Bull are having issues (Renault said the software went all BSOD on Sebastians car), and that some others like Caterham are looking bad, but Lotus don't even seem in the ball park, and yet seem to be pushing the drivers to improve. I

"Please go faster, Romain"
- "I can't"
"Understood"

That made me laugh way too hard

Although I agree, the fact you can actually hear the crowd over the engines I found amazing.
That's going to make for some old-school atmosphere at some races this season, particularly silverstone and Brazil.

A lot has been bitched about the 2014 engines, but tbh, they don't sound terrible.
And the fact you can hear team radio clearly and add to that the possibility of hearing the crowd?
I'm now in favour of them ;)

That's what I think is awesome as well. Love it when you hear those lockups before you realize them on screen. Cool stuff, this alone is a reason for me to turn up the volume each session. :D

Funny, I've read lots of people saying they can now hear the tires squeal but have yet to hear it myself? I must not be paying enough attention, or I don't have the volume up high enough. :)

Anyone got a video where it's particularly obvious?

Couldn't find a great example, but found this clip on YouTube:

At about 11:49 Alonso starts to brake for turn 1 and locks up his right front. Lovely sound caputed there as well. :p

Wow, yeah that's very obvious actually.

Not sure how I managed to miss that all weekend.
