Why would Streiff lie?

Yeah, I don't see the gain for Streiff in lying about this.

Especially as he has had to live through a similarly traumatic accident, and slowly put his life back together, in the public eye. Ok, not Schumacher-level scrutiny, but I gather he is something of a disability icon in France?

Strieff has nothing to gain from lying about it, but Kehm has an awful lot to lose from repeated leaks. Which one is more likely to gloss over the facts?

Also I don't really see how his situation could be any 'better' than what's being described there...

Well, I was also referring to Streiff's comment being the truth.
But the fact that Kehm is making him look like a liar, saying that he didn't even see Michael, makes me think that Michael's condition must be terrible. Unfortunately.

More like Sabine Kehm is simply doing as she is told, I'm pretty sure her frustrations over the whole cloak and dagger stuff has been reported on before (didn't she say something to the effect of "I'd love to give you more info but I'm only allowed to relay what the family say I can" a few months ago?).

Would it matter what she says? If he's doing ok people will bitch until he shows his face in public. If she says he's a vegetable people will bitch that his wife should "just pull the plug". And in both cases the paparazzi will do whatever it takes to get the first picture or scoop.

And the paparazzi try that anyway.

Kehms words to Phillippe Streiff...
Quote:
Michael’s manager Sabine Kehm was quick to deny the rumours by saying that Streiff’s claim was a personal opinion and had nothing to do with reality. She further added on the situation, “He did not have contact with us.” She also added:“Philippe Streiff is neither a friend of Michael’s nor has he ever visited him.”

Has it been publically known before this that Streiff and Schumacher were friends? If so, that statement is beyond stupid.

Google throws up a few "friendly" photo's of them at Mercedes functions together, plus there's also a website with photo's of Streiff that looks like he is at the French hospital visiting:
http://www.purepeople.com.br/noticia/mi ... nal,manual

They really need to stop playing this bullshit he said she didn't say game and take notes from the Bianchi family, she is technically right in some respects, but then Streiff doesn't claim to have visited Schu at all in the article (so why bother denying it?), he just conveys and opinion based on what he knows, and it's not like he isn't without some experience of these matters, these people (Kehm, Korina etc.) need to understand that all the time they deny something or try and deflect attention away from Schu but on the flip side keeping info so tight that it puts a ducks arse to shame, it's only going to make people more inquisitive about how the guy is doing.

I think it was said earlier in the thread, they need to look at how the Bianchi family have handled things, and how the public/press are handling them.

But, Bianchi is different kind, he is not that Public that Schumi is, thats a fact. When I look Schumi's crash after our two News Channels in germany (N24,NTV) where Reporting around the clock.
Bianchi crash... Some Reports on News not much special Reports etc.

I believe it's just a difference of mentality. It only takes one strong person in the family to make a difference, and just reading what Bianchi's father said and did, you realise he is such a person. It is understandable that not everybody has what it takes to be like that in such circumstances though.

Streiff told Le Parisien that Schumacher still can't speak but is beginning to recognize his wife and kids

Kehm stated that Schumacher has a hard fight ahead.
He "has made progress within the gravity of the situation".

One year ago today if I remember correctly. First news seemed pretty innocent but then...

Both Kehm and Saillant have denied this and all the contacts with Streiff ever happened with them, Schumacher or his family.

I have to wonder what really is going on. Saillant has tried to fire Hartstein for ever mentioning Michael in his blog and now they say that Streiff has never been in anywhere near with them, even though there's clearly been some talks with him. All the official statements have been about denying everything and repeating the words "long road, some progress".

What a mess.

I am telling you, they are sucking michael's money, for all that we know he could still be in coma.

why would Kehm lie?

Maybe his family don't want to world to know the truth or maybe Streiff is craving the attention.

I would love to know what the real situation is but I fear the next real news we'll get is that he passed away. It being in the next few weeks, months or even years. We probably will never know how good or bad he is right now.
