it's weird how little I remember from this year. I read about crashes and passes that really don't ring a bell.

Best and Worst Driver[s] of the year:
Best: Vettel, no one else stands out so much, but the top 5 from the points were doing good job. Worst: Maldonado, Pic (he did nothing remarkable, imo) and Chilton (same as Pic but even slower)

Best and Worst Team[s] of the year:
Best: Red Bull, they did nearly a perfect job all year long. Worst: Caterham for going out with two pay drivers and ending up 11th and McLaren for being number one at Jerez due an error and then falling off the cliff big time and finally firing Perez, who did have pretty reasonable last leg of the season.

Biggest surprise of the year:
Williams removes Coanda-exhaust and Bottas starts to score points in all of a sudden. Really tells how small the margins are with the cars.

Biggest disappointment[s] of the year (moments):
Heikki Kovalainen's whole year as a random Friday tester went up high when Lotus took him to replace Räikkönen and fall back down low when the red lights went out.

Crash of the year:
Maldonado and Marussians at Monaco was the most spectacular for me.

Drive of the year:
Vettel at Singapore after the SC. That really showed everyone what was coming for the rest of the year. He was untouchable.

Race of the year:
Melbourne. It was not anti-climatic and didn't let down as did many other race weekends.

Pass of the year:
Alonso going around the outside in T3 at Barcelona. That was a daring move.

Most controversial moment of the year:
Respect the track limits, don't respect the track limits, respect the track limits, don't respect the track limits, that's a track limit, that's not a track limit, that's a track limit...etc.

Quote of the year:
"Sometimes it is not very nice when you hear that you are not really a team player, and you don't have the interests of the team [at heart] - but you have been paid zero Euro the whole year,"

FAIL of the year:
Alonso/Ferrari at Sepang for not pitting with a broken front wing.

Funniest moment of the year:
Vettel's Doughnuts gave at least something nice to watch for the fans.

Saddest moment of the year:
Maria de Villota's untimely passing, just one day prior her biography publishing.

Race thread of the year:
US GP Thread where the most happened a few days after the race.

Drive of the year: Vettel in Singapore and Brazil

Race of the year: Bahrain GP

Pass of the year: Hulkenberg in Abu Dhabi coming in the middle during a 3-wide

I'm anything but chauvinistic, so if a Dutch driver sucks then he simply sucks, but to Scotty and Philthy82; why VdG as one of the worst drivers?
