It's slightly worrying that that's happened. Both Marussias have been running around very slowly, and despite this they have now suffered a second parts failure.

I hope that they are not in the same situation HRT were last year, and running parts way beyond their lifespan, which would be terribly dangerous for them and others.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I need to be with a low audio here but I think that even Hulk was complaining.

Organization of this GP, so far, is the worst I can remember in a long time

In fairness, the fog and helicopter issues weren't their fault.

the fog obviously wasn't but isn't their responsibility to make sure the medical helicopter is there by some confortable time margin b4 a session starts? The fog probably was there for a long time before but one would assume it wouldn't take that much for a helicopter to arrive there once the sky got cleared
Also, the chopper that arrived also seemed to be an improvised one from "EMS Fire Rescue" or whatever. Anyway, sky showed this:

Heikke will need to work on his race setup a bit

The helicopter problem was nothing to do with the fog, it was just a technical failure.

Well, what a shame and bad luck for us(the fans) and the people that went to the track and lost quite some running time. What an unfortunate combination of weather and mechanical troubles

On a more random note, I wish Lewis don't use this helmet in any other weekend cause it doesn't suit well with Mercedes livery, imo

I don't really like the Mercedes livery anyway [on TV] so no helmet design in it works for me :p

I never knew Heikke had so many fans, or that autosport forum possibly have plenty of Finnishs. There is even those type of fans like : "take that Valsecchi boy" and some bashing towards Grosjean as well

ffs

Yeah, me neither, Twitter went crazy for Heikki.

Lopez says they considered seven drivers. Thought to be Kovalainen, Valsecchi, Schumacher, Hulkenberg, Maldonado, Barrichello and Kobayashi.

The results of the FP2:

Code:
1. Sebastian Vettel   Red Bull 1.37,305   35 laps
2. Mark Webber        Red Bull   +0,115   37
3. Nico Rosberg       Mercedes   +0,480   38
4. Lewis Hamilton     Mercedes   +0,653   38
5. Heikki Kovalainen  Lotus      +0,768   41
6. Esteban Gutierrez  Sauber     +0,924   40
7. Nico Hulkenberg    Sauber     +0,949   40
8. Romain Grosjean    Lotus      +0,950   33
9. Jenson Button      McLaren    +0,964   34
10. Fernando Alonso   Ferrari    +1,156   33
11. Adrian Sutil      F. India   +1,414   31
12. Felipe Massa      Ferrari    +1,633   37
13. Sergio Perez      McLaren    +1,636   31
14. Daniel Ricciardo  Toro Rosso +1,941   28
15. Paul di Resta     F. India   +2,105   34
16. Valtteri Bottas   Williams   +2,207   37
17. Jean-Eric Vergne  Toro Rosso +2,274   36
18. Pastor Maldonado  Williams   +2,479   33
19. Charles Pic       Caterham   +3,071   39
20. G. van der Garde  Caterham   +3,258   35
21. Max Chilton       Marussia   +8,921   31
22. Jules Bianchi     Marussia   +9,704   20

After witnessing what happened to Fisichella and d'Ambrosio after quick change of teams I never thought Kovalainen could be ahead of his team mate in any session. Sure Grosjean had his problems today and the real test is on Quali and Race, but I'm really surprised that Heikki was so fast to learn the Lotus today. I had all the excuses like "no race experience this year", "unfamiliar car", "jet lag" and "career pressure" ready to use but it seems like none of those are needed. I'm much more confident to see what tomorrow has on this. 8)
