Don't worry, soon you won't even be able to say Belgians are the worst because Belgians won't exist anymore.

Then you'll be able to see Flemish are the worst

We're talking about fanBOYS, not "fans" which are normal people. Every driver has fans, a small fraction of which are morons, we call them fanboys and they should all die in fire.

Yes, but I don't see any difference between any group of fanboys. That was my point.

What you have on the Internet is borderline tribal warfare. From my experience of people sending Tweets to F1Zone's account, Kimi fans can be unreasonable and vitriolic. It's the same when you look on Atlas. There's usually a minority of fans of every driver who are unreasonable, but with Kimi's fans this number appears larger. They tend to be hugely disparaging about Lotus/Boullier/Grosjean when it doesn't go right for Kimi. When Romain and Kimi battled in Korea & Romain said Kimi was lucky to get P2, so many people tweeted that Romain was a dick, or words to that extent.

It does happen with fans of other drivers (with a few people criticising Vettel and saying it's only the car etc), but it's more prominent with Kimi's fans.

most people on social networks wants to show viciously that their support to someone, some team or anything is unconditional, sometimes sick

I see that a lot because I produce content for a f1 humour facebook page and when I post something often highlighting Senna or Piquet the number of comments and shares almost double rather than others. at some point things got so extreme that one Piquet fanboy produced a fake interview just to prove it was impossible to drive a car with a V12 engine through Interlagos with only the 6th gear (as made famous by Senna at 1991 Brazilian GP)

anyway, the best thing to do is just ignore (and for myself, just hide those comments on fb)

Could you imagine what it would have been like if Michael Andretti had fanboys and the internet was wide spread in 1993? My God we would have had an even more ridiculous conspiracy piece than that Kimi one about 2008.

I often wonder what incidents like Nigel at Canada would've produced should we have had internet forums back then.

Or Senna and Prost at Suzuka in 1989 and 1990, Schumi and Hill at Adelaide in 1994 or Schumi and JV at Jerez in 1997...

The first serious serious incident I remember discussing on an internet forum was Austria 2002. I'm sure there were some before that, but that one sticks in my mind. I'm not linking to it, because I was a fucking idiot during it. Yay for being an idiot in our younger years!

I got the internet in 1999 but I don't think I found my first F1 forum (Farzads, for whatever reason. Maybe the video clips...) until 2000.

I'm pretty sure it was searching for a vid of the Schumi/Hakkinen overtake that led me to that forum and the fact there was such a difference from what I'd watched on ITV to the F1 Digital angle on the video clip led me to post on the forum asking about it.

Ahhh, the folly of those first, exploratory days. At least I branched out from posting on the Robot Wars and Red Dwarf forums all the time
