it was senna's final number, it has some weight

Massa chose 19, by coincidence also senna's first number in F1

also a good pick for driver who worship senna, to pick 12, 8 or 27 (also a symbol of Gilles and a personal favourite of mine)

I believe that means Eddie Jordan is at 6/6 in terms of driver deals.

He also said Caterham would go for Marcus Ericsson... If that's the case, I might revise my belief that Caterham will join the midfield next year.

The only shot Ericsson will have is that Pirelli will be conservative. He's harsh on equipment, so Renault better bring Caterham a good engine.

Not sure if it is because of the livery, but I actually wouldn't mind that car, looks pretty cool IMO. Looks like an evolved Mp4-21.

Give them two midfield standard drivers and I think they would.

McLaren should have an orange livery. For ever.

Trulli, Kovalainen and Petrov not ringing any bells then???

I know I sound like a broken record, but still... this team since 2011 has had Renault engines, this team since 2011-2012 has had the back end of a Red Bull and this team in 2012 and 2013 only just beat Marussia who've been using Cosworth engines and Xtrac gearboxes. I know Caterham stopped 2013 development early to focus on 2014 but that isn't a guaranteed route to success. Considering the resources (compared the likes of HRT and Marussia) they have at their availability, Caterham have been the most underperforming team these past couple of years.

I wonder what number I'd pick if I had the chance.......

Looking at that photo of the Mclaren (and thank god Orange, despite it's heritage, is just their testing colours because I've never been a fan of it on their cars. Arrows pulled it off but it was more the orange+black that looked good),
I'd be concerned about the low wings but high cockpit allowing the cars to bulldoze under the rear of each other in front/rear impacts, and perhaps if there's a nose/sidepod t-bone crash (if someone did a DC at Spa 98's start, etc) the nose would bury itself under the side of the car and maybe even flip it on over....

If anyone remembers Robot Wars with all those robots with scoops on the front, bit like that.
You can do a lot with a low front end and 100+MPH it seems...

It just proofs succes is hard in f1. Even Toyota couldn't win with their gazillion dollar budget thus making red bulls succes even more impressive.

Have you watched WEC couple of weeks ago? The installed lights are nowhere near what is enough for a F1 car

The light project looked finished to me, they didn't seem to be all switched on for the WEC. Maybe not.

They underperformed, I agree. If you read an interview with Trulli (I think it was on Autosport a few months ago), you realise why. I'd be so disappointed if they don't get a point in 2014 because I believe they're on the right track now. When they do, there's going to be a huge party :p

It is difficult to be competitive in F1 now. Ross Brawn hit the nail on the head by saying in 2011 Mercedes had the 5th highest budget and finished P5 in 2012. In 2012 they had the 2nd highest budget and finished 2nd in 2013...

Williams - who probably had a similar budget to Caterham - only scored five points and they have huge history in the sport.

I doubt that Red Bull had the second-highest budget in 2008.
