Either Todt has got them to change their mind or Pirelli will be sticking around as well.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Hopefully a tyre war.

Won't happen really, guess Todt did some kissing up to Michelin to turf out Pirelli.

Tbh, all I'm expecting is Pirelli to stay and no Michelin, at all, as Pirelli wouldn't accept to compete with the French company and the later is only likely to be in F1 if there is "tire war"

It's ironic that Todt and crew's actions (Indy 2005, etc...) were a huge part of the reason why Michelin quit F1 and now he's trying to get them back. Double standards anyone?

A pity it's no addition to the real schedule. I like the track.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/109042

If Bernie would be smart, we'd have the season start in early March, and before going to Australia in the last week of that month, we'd have
- Bahrain
- Abu Dhabi
- Dubai
- Qatar

That would be an amazingly shitty and underwhelming way to start an F1 season.

If true that'll be two tyre companies he's driven out then!

Does he see that as his mission in life? :?

I give it to his next term in office until he starts making noises about the races being too boring due to the Michelin tyres not being like Pirelli and it's time to bring refueling back....

And if he does, I will stop watching the sport.

a 'random' point, which I intended on posting for quite a long time, but now I want to again.

Why do we have safety car phases for vehicles stranded miles off the racing line, never forming any realistic danger to crash into?

I guess it makes it easier for the marshals to remove cars more safely, they are given more time and more space to remove the cars.
Anyway, we don't actually need 5 laps for that...

When do we have safety car phases like that? They won't even put out a safety car when cars are stuck on the racing line most of the time.

That car was on track, not miles of the racing line. Try again

Because marshals safety is the most important thing.

It is indeed, considering they don't get paid and they get treated the worst of any of the people at the track (bossed around, expected to clean up the drivers mess in record times, completely in the line of fire etc )

What I'm worried about is British racing is considering adopting the code 60 arrangement seen in a few places (the Dubai 24 hours being the biggest one so far) so you get all the boredom of a SC period without any of the side effects of bunching up the field and making the race better.

(For those that don't know a code 60 uses electronic devices to maintain the gaps between cars that they had when the code 60 boards come out. When the Code 60 period is over, they resume as they were before it happened. Purism be damned, I don't want it. )

Purism? Dosn't that mean you should want to return to a time before safety car intervention : p

Yeah that's what I mean, purists want the fastest car on pole, the slowest last and a race on Sunday with the leader stroking it home unencumbered by safety cars, pit stops or any of that wretched overtaking.

The only purist argument I can get on board with is no blue flags....otherwise I'm not interested.

I'd like some excitement on my Sunday afternoon thanks

Well, we have a long 4 weeks of bullshit before SPA to read stories like this.

That said, as much as its fantasy land I'd LOVE to see the two drivers that are the outright number 1s in their teams in the same team.
As much as I'd like to think Red Bull would play it fair, I think we'd be in for a combination that made Alonso's 07 hissy fit at Hungary pale in comparison if he had Vettel as a team mate and they even hinted at favouring Vettel at any point in the season.

Kimi or even Alonso alongside Red Bull would be great for the sport.
So I have absolutely no doubt then that company boy Ricciardo will be given the seat so we can have Mark Webber MK 2 for the next 3 years or so...

That's doing Webber a disservice. Ricciardo will be more like Massa than Webber.

If Alonso leaves, Ferrari will suddenly be left looking at a very average line-up. (Some may say they already have an average line-up. One very good and one very shit driver)
