Webber was given as much equal treatment as he could and threw it away A LOT. Lets not pretend that he was given fake gearbox penalties to help Vettel.

Not at all, but anyone who thinks Vettel isn't the favoured son there is deluded.

Daniel will have all that to fight against, and honestly now, good luck to him. His entire career now depends on going up against Vettel and that's a bigger ask than most drivers get in this stage of their career...

Yes, Vettel is the favoured son.

But if you're Red Bull's management, who will you back to deliver you the wins and the titles?

It's not like he's getting favoured without justification.

Besides, there's still a lot of love for Webber from a lot of people at Red Bull.

It's hard to not favour the only driver challenging for the championship. When you can't even get a win, nevermind challenge for the title, you cannot expect the team to give you the same support. So preemptive expectations on how 2 RBR drivers will get treated is purely fictional.

Even if it's forecast 30c and sunny for the whole weekend, I'm still taking a coat.

It's either going to be 30°C all weekend long and you will have your face burned, or it's going to be -10°C with lots of rain and wind which will later give you the cold of your life.

I don't think anyone will expect Ricciardo to match Vettel next year, its only 2 or 3 years down the line when we know if he's another Massa or not.

Sometimes it was rather early in the championship when Red Bull started to favour Vettel. Agree they are rather inconsistent - sometimes Webber got the favoured treatment and the logic wasn't always obvious.

3-part turn 10 chicane at Singapore is apparently gone for this year:
https://twitter.com/cmckinleyF1/status/ ... 3314539520

As crap a corner as it was, I actually kind of liked it because it provided a different kind of challenge. I've always felt that one of the elements that should be in F1 is throwing different kinds of challenges at teams/drivers & that fiddly little chicane was something you don't get anywhere else & was a challenge to get right.

I lost several minutes trying to figure out in my head which 3-part chicane is present at the Shanghai track.

Early forecast implies red flag conditions for next Sunday. :8:

So expect sunny and hot weather.

Another change they could think about at Singapore is extending the straight after turn 6 and going around the outside of the war memorial.

i liked that chicane. it was horrible, but was part of the challenge of the track. this new corner should not generate any overtaking, but it will be interesting to see how much speed they carry onto the bridge now.

Shouldn't be that much more as there is another right/left chicane before they enter the bridge.

Raikkonen not going to Red Bull (is how I read it anyway)

Quote:
Dr Helmut Marko has hinted that Kimi Raikkonen is not in Red Bull’s plans for 2014.

The Austrian’s comments come amid reports the 2007 world champion has actually decided to move from Lotus to Ferrari next year.

After German media reports said Daniel Ricciardo will be Sebastian Vettel’s new teammate, Red Bull’s Marko admitted that the team’s 2014 lineup will be announced this weekend in Belgium.

But he has hinted that Finn Raikkonen is now out of the running.

Asked about the Raikkonen-to-Ferrari reports, Marko told German newspaper Bild: “I’m not nervous. Don’t forget that we still have Vettel.”

It is a clear sign that Red Bull has decided instead to sign Toro Rosso driver Ricciardo, who was described by Bild as a ‘no-name’ driver.

But Marko insisted: “This (Ricciardo’s signing) is not fixed yet.”

And, when asked about reports Toro Rosso is set to lose Ricciardo, team boss Franz Tost told Speed Week: “I don’t know.”
