What seems to happen is that they give new races a slot at the end of the calender to given them more time to complete their track, then they don't ever move them from that spot and we've ended with a pile-up of relatively new GP's at the end of the calender.

It also depends on location though. Korea, India and Singapore are there so they can do the Asian races in 1 run. Austin is there so they can go to Interlagos straight after (and they couldn't do it back to back with Montreal because the weather would be insanely hot, and now the FIA is responsible for the Le Mans dates with the ACO, they can't clash with LM). Valencia got an early date because it was in Europe, so fitted into that section of the schedule.

I think this is why they moved India to March 2015: to free up the end of year run. Once Korea gets dropped as well it makes the end of season run more tolerable. The issue next year is how Montreal, New Jersey, Silverstone, Austria, Germany, Hungary all fit in to the June/July space. One solution might be to have one of those Euro races in early May, or simply move Monaco/Montreal a week earlier; Monaco historic has a provisional date of May 11th, suggesting the GP will still happen on the last weekend in May, as usual...

If New Jersey happens it's not such a problem, but there's also the issue of post-race testing, which is penned in for Silverstone, Catalunya, Monza and one other. It'd be difficult therefore to have Silverstone as the first part of a back-to-back weekend. So it may well be Austria/Britain/gap/Germany/Hungary.

Fascinating interview with Maurice Hamilton, conducted by the same person who interviewed Gary Hartstein

Dutch F1 site and magazine Formule1.nl has an article about Christijan Albers. Apparently he was close to taking over a team a few times. That part sadly is placed in the magazine and not on the site but it's seems we're not rid of him completely...

I recon 1 would be HRT. Another maybe Virgin (now Marrussia)?

Why? Safer than most demo runs that have people against a fence beside it.

He probably means for the driver, the barrier seems low and the car could flip over in the water on the odd chance the driver overdrives it.

Coulthard is a pretty shitty driver, I understand his concerns.

And no doubt Coulthard would blame the gearbox, or Irvine.

To be fair, DC assumed he lost the car at Spa over the gutter on the divide to the old 'run off'. Irvine admitted it without being asked on TFI Friday.

Oh I know. But Coulthard never admitted his mistake in public until many years after the incident.

This is the man remember, who blamed gearbox idle speed for crashing into the pit wall at Adelaide in 1995.

If he'd admitted it, he'd be wrong anyway. It wasn't his mistake lol.

Williams 1995 gearbox cost DC 30 points alone, and Hill at least 20 (off the top of my head). Not too far fetched to assume the same gearbox didn't work again. First full season in F1, I don't think it's that bad a crime lol.

You're saying that Irvine caused the 1998 Spa incident? I know DC claimed that for many years but then he also stated on BBC during a post-race show (probably after Spa last year) that it was in fact his mistake and Irvine was totally innocent. I've never considered Irvine as a responsible party in that incident, I'm not sure how he can be.

Wel the first 3-4 cars go toward Eou rouge, but then its a big spray and you then see suddenly DC going into the wall causing a chain reaction.. did someone touch him or simply lost it at exit or dont know, im just guessing..
